It slices, it dices, and it juliennes so I'm surprised they didn't mention vanity mirrors or cup holders.
It does look nice as a YouTube animation so it will be interesting to actually see one.
As many other threads have discussed, we have height and range concerns here in the Villages and I didn't see any specs related to those.

There are reports the frame welds are not well made. They also are long wait times for parts.

I have the Evolution D5 Ranger. 5,000 miles. No issues with frame welds - in fact the frame is stronger than the Yamaha. The Yamaha frame does not extend all the way through on the top - just 4 supports going up and attaching at the corners of the plastic roof. The Evolution frame has solid steel bars on each side going along the entire length of the roof providing a far more stable frame. If you roll it, the roof won't just cave in on you.
I've had several items fixed - zero wait on parts if you have a good dealer.
I previously owned two Yamaha's and a Club Car. This is by far the best cart I've ever owned.

It is 84 inches tall.
A lot for the money.
From AI: The D-Max GT4 golf cart is 83.7 inches tall. The dimensions are also listed as 122.6" long and 56.1" wide (including rearview mirrors)

I have "heard" reports of poor frame welds. Amazon sells cheap TIG/MIG welders :)
Please give us your impressions.

As carts have increased in height due to demand, the D-Max refrigerator-on-wheels, no exception, it appears as though the family has taken the position that their antiquated infrastructure (ie too small tunnels) is a marketing feature for their captive audience golf cart side hustle.
At what point, if ever, do they give. In and widen the 2 or 3 tunnels up north to accommodate market demand?

Yes long wait times are the norm in our experience! Our Evolution has been out of commission for 2 months now. :( :cryin2:
Keep in mind the delay has not only been due to parts, but also Progressive insurance has never dealt with claims on an Evolution (such a new cart). Then there is the challenge to find someone to do the needed work. Hidden Carts is doing the work with delays due to vacations, parts, and the back and forth with insurance.

At what point are residents going to realize that The Villages' MMP's were designed for GOLF carts, not transportation vehicles that hold 4-6 people, with a golf club rack stuck on the back? Or raised "golf" carts? Or semi-ATV's?
Residents are the problem, not design.

There was an accident, and the frame has to be replaced. Thankfully it is a full replacement of the frame and NOT a "fix"

They don't need to widen the tunnels - width is fine - they need to make them taller.

My buddy has the new d max with the 16” wheel/tires. I’ve traveled with him 2x now golfing and it’s 1 hell of a cart. Very good quality. I’m thinking of getting the same. All the smaller tunnels are way north of here, nowhere where I’ll be taken this. The 165 battery is on the low side, I would wait for the 205 to get much better range

The 205 won't fit in the D-Max right now. Speaker boxes inside the battery compartment are two big. Bad engineering design, hopefully they will figure it out. I'm thinking of cutting my boxes out and putting a fake speaker face where the speakers are. Thing has like 10 speakers in it, don't think I will miss two. My friend has a 160 and she said she can go from Eastport to Sumter and back without a problem.

It looks like you are new here. You would benefit from attending the Resident Academy and should also consider CDD Orientation, PWAC, or numbered CDD meetings.
If "the family" has taken any interest at all in the height of new personal transport vehicles it has been to make new tunnels taller, which is all "the family" can do. If you attend any of the meetings mentioned above you will learn that "the family" builds new infrastructure, they don't maintain existing infrastructure. Maintenance of existing infrastructure is the responsibility of the CDD encompassing it.
The two short tunnels might be an interesting, separate case. Those tunnels do not appear to be within a CDD, they are within the Saddlebrook Exec Golf course and the Laurel Manor Rec center. Given that location, those two tunnels might be maintained with amenity funds. If that is true then the funds to heighten (not widen) those tunnels would come from your amenity fee.
So the proper question might be, when do we petition the necessary CDDs and committees to spend our amenity dollars to heighten two tunnels so that those who want to purchase a "refrigerator-on-wheels" don't have to find an alternate route?

I don' know...Blasting AC/DC might sound a little dull without those 2 speakers :)
What is the stated range? I would estimate 50 miles with one person.
Does the back cooler with wheels come standard?
Will the dash refrigerator make muh beer ice cold?
These behemoths were never anticipated way back then.

Range says 50 to 60, that refrigerator might hold 3 beers, wife said we will use it for sandwiches. Cooler on back is standard.

Everything is made in China, they are only assembled in the US. Thats a big no for me... Second, you cannot find local dealerships information on their website without filling out a form requesting a lot of your information. This all leaves a bad taste....

Hard to believe that those massive tires are golf course approved.
Maybe it’s an optical illusion or perhaps those are not the tires you’ll be getting ?

Why would larger tires not be golf course approved? The diameter of the tire makes no difference at all but the wider the tire the less weight on the turf and therefore less damage.

It’s not so much the size as it is the thread style and profile-configuration ….
You do know that The Villages has a listing of “approved” tires for use on the golf courses, right ?

Tread style makes sense.
No, I didn't know that. As a non-golfer that isn't something that concerns me and driving a Yamaha and an EZ-Go I figure I'm in good shape if that ever changes.

It took me 3 months to get a headlight module for my Yamaha quietech cart. Had a small issue with my cancelling blinkers on my D5, they were there in 2 days, fixed it with a new part and it has worked fine every since. Too much demand and not enough mechanics period.

So I guess you will be walking. Yamaha, club car, and ezgo all use substantial amounts of Chinese parts. I have a Yamaha cart that is great but they have dropped the ball on Lithium. My D5 we bought last year is just way nicer and to be honest, built better.

I tell you what, I have a D5 with a 160 AH battery and I bet you would never get it below 50%. You can do over 3 hours easy on that batter flat out running. We went from Hillsborough to Boosters by Middleton for Dinner, over to Sawgrass, back to Brownwood, then home. Has 62% charge when we pulled back in the garage. Anyone with Range anxiety with these newer lithium carts is not informed. I have a Yamaha and a D5 and I prefer the D5, but unfortunately my wife gets first dibs since it is technically her cart.

The D5 is known to get that kind of mileage. I've done the same with my EZ-Go though I didn't have that much battery remaining.
The D-MAX advertises a few more battery-draining options. I'd be interested in seeing realistic range numbers for that.

I have the 205ah. I would NOT have bought a D5 if all they had was a 160ah battery. I'm as far north as you get in The Villages - in Phillips Villas, north east of Lopez. With the 205ah I can comfortably get to the sourthern courses, play 18, and have 20%-30% battery left when I get home.
With a 160ah, playing Bonifay, Belle Glade, or Evans Prairie would take the battery below 10% - at which point the cart drops to less than 10mph (limp mode). I would not be able to take my cart to Southern Oaks or Shallow Creek and play 18.
The 160ah will get you range in the mid 50's. The 205ah takes you to low 70's. Much more comfortable with that.
In summary, if you live in the middle of The Villages then the 160ah will get you anywhere you need to go. If you live in either extreme end you need the 205ah.

I don't have that range but I live in the middle where I don't (yet) need it. At the same time, I'm not sure I would choose the cart for a 20+ mile, 2 hour trip each way.

Yes, I have done that - many times. It takes a bit under 1 1/2 hours to get to Shallow Creek. Shallow Creek is 26 miles each way for me.
