Attached is a PDF instruction on how to replace the self cancelling turn signal switch IF The Villages Golf Carts refuses to to the work and if you have the SAME switch.

Hope this helps.

Will this fix a switch where the self cancellation no longer works? My signals work but I have to turn them off myself.

That was the problem that the owners had. So if your switch is the SAME yes this will fix it.

Send me a Private Message if you would like to discuss over the phone or have me look at it.

I’ve had it apart before to fix some issues, I’ll tear it apart tomorrow and compare it to the pictures. I’m pretty sure this is the same as mine. Thanks for the post and your offer to help.

Why would the Villages Golf Carts refuse to do I it??

How do you know it it is the same switch? Is there a part number on it?

Yes, the original switch has a part number, which is how I was able to find the replacement, that has the same part number, I believe this is in the instruction I posted, if not I will add another picture.

I asked them about buying a new switch. They told me I’d have to bring it in for repair, they wouldn’t sell me any parts for the turn signal.

I have a 2019 Yamaha Quiet tech without self canceling turn signals. It has the in mirror regular turn signals that the Villages Golf Cart was installing at that time. How hard would it be to retrofit this to my cart?

Thank you very much. Mine had evolved to the point where it only worked if I made a sharp 90 degree turn. Eventually it didn't work at all. The cost to replace it... approx $170.

Obviously Villages Golf Cars is in the REPAIR business and not parts business. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with warranty repairs. Many of us think we're competent two-car-garage mechanics and just like cars, the more junk they put on golf cars the more complex a "simple fix" becomes.

VillageTinker to the rescue again.

And thanks to your past advice, we just bought one. We steered clear of TVGC and steered into the showroom at Village Discount Golf Cart last Monday :a040: :a040::a040::a040::a040::a040::a040::a040:

Amazon or O’Reilly. Look for part number cbs1265. Just ordered mine from Amazon. Be here tomorrow.

Thanks again to VT!

IMHO, very hard, this switch requires a mechanical ring mounted on the steering column for the self cancelling feature and there is a housing required for the mounting of the switch. i believe both of these are unique to the Yamaha golf carts.
The simple low cost solution is to add a beeper to the turn signals. This will cause a beeping sound when ever the turn signals are active. These are sold as kits for motorcycles for around $20. Wiring is very similar one wire from each turn signal to the beeper module and one wire to ground. This can also be done with 2 diodes (I use 1N4003) and a 5 to 24 VDC beeper.

My new switch was delivered a few minutes ago and it works perfectly. Maybe it will last a long time.
