I am moving to TV, have a boat and RV/5th wheel, and I like to maintain and repair both toys. I will be storing them at a storage yard, but to maintain and repair them, my preference is to bring one or the other to my house. Is there a village that tolerates RVs and boats for a day or two at time, or perhaps a storage yard that accommodates DIY maintenance and repair on boats and RVs?

In the Villages, No, your deed will say No specifically to your question. The second part of your question I do not know. It sounds like you have not done an extended stay at the Villages so that might be the first step in your Journey to the Villages and adjust your lifestyle accordingly.

Should have 72 hours but check your deed restrictions. I would try and hide if you're working on them if you can. Looking for a bass boat right now for myself and small enough to get in the garage. I hate off-site parking.

Remember there are different deed requirements per Village. You should look up the deed restrictions for each Village you want.

It might depend on your neighbors, too. Our neighbors across the street had a 5th wheel that they would bring from storage and park across their driveway for a couple of days before they went off in it. They were nice people whom everyone liked, and we didn't care if they took up some road space for a couple days here and there.

We have a couple neighbors that occasionally bring their RV’s and work on them in their driveway before/after a road trip when they aren’t in long term storage. It’s absolutely no problem unless they stick out into the road and block traffic. In our district, they can keep them in their driveway for three consecutive days. I can’t speak for other CDD’s as I have only read the deed restrictions in our district. I’d gladly take a whole street of RV owners over a neighbor running an AIR BnB turnstile business out of their home.

You have 3 full days at a time, and if your neighbors are cool, a little longer

The 72 hours for loading and unload in most districts and no 3/4 ton truck or larger either? Check district you plan on moving into. In harmeswood of belle aire and you can park them on your property they are allowed.

Thank you for the link and information. I found the verbiage in each district's rules- very helpful! It's 3 days and no vehicles larger than 3/4 ton.

We live in Summerhill, we park our small camper trailer in our driveway before we leave and after for about 3 or 4 days. No problem. Guess it depends how nice your neighbors. We are lucky, we have great ones.

First and foremost, check your deed restrictions. Remember why you're moving to The Villages. It is neat and orderly. There are rules and restrictions to maintain the look, aesthetics, and property values. If you performed maintenance on your boat and RV on the street where you lived before, it doesn't mean that fits here. Imagine if EVERYONE brought all their boats and RVs to do work on them in the driveways or in front of their homes? The Villages would be an absolute mess! It would not be The Villages anymore..it would be every other town we all left behind. That being said, I sold my boat and RV when I moved here. I purchased another RV recently and store it at a covered and powered facility. I'm allowed to do light maintenance on site. I would encourage you to look into a storage place that allows you that flexibility. Message me privately and I'll tell you which place I use. Lastly, I would NOT follow anyone's advice that tells you to arbitrarily park them out front for 3 days, that it won't matter, blah blah blah. A lot of those people are NOT Villagers and would love to see The Villages degraded. Check your deed restrictions...please.

You can rent a covered space for a reasonable price at Coverall Storage in Oxford. Each covered spot has 50 amp electric hook-ups. The facility also has a very nice dump station and washing area. You are allowed to do maintenance there, too. With the fifth wheel plugged in and under cover, you will have a nice place to do your maintenance. One of the large pull-throughs will have room for the boat once you remove the truck. I did it for years. There are similar places in the southern area of The Villages. Act now in the off-season as there is more availability.

Residential streets in The Villages belong to the COUNTY. Within deed and CDD restrictions, you can park on the street.

Check out the 16' bass tracker XL classic with a swing hitch on the trailer. If I'm not mistaken it's under 19 feet.

You can't park an unhitched BOAT on the street.

Can someone explain to me WHO dreamed up the DIFFERENT DEED REQUIREMENTS for EACH village? Whose ideas were they in the first place? Initial purpose? Logic behind each? Need to do so? Benefit of such distinctions over the years? Statistical analysis of the continuance of any unsubstantiated need to continue REQUIREMENT of any arbitrary restriction? (i.e. requirements such as one exterior/trim paint (or roof) color for 100+ neighborhood homes? Stones v. grass? Live grass vs. artificial turf? Painted driveways vs. not allowed? There are probably dozens of other variations of DEED REQUIREMENTS that also have NO BASIS in fact for continuance - BUT THE EMPORER HAS NO CLOTHES!

The streets aren’t owned by The Villages. I’ve parked my motor home on the street a couple of times up to two weeks. I also paid $45 a month at The Villages storage lot off Rolling Acres. I also had an electrician install a 50 amp in my garage. Never used it and sold my unit shortly thereafter. I’m sure the neighbors appreciated it, but never complained.

Deed restrictions will specify, but your neighbors may not appreciate an RV or boat parked in your driveway. Probably better make other arrangements.

It's completely the opposite. The Emperor who has no clothes, are those who don't understand and question the need for the (generally) well thought out and necessary Deed Restrictions.
There are no Deed Restrictions that are arbitrary, illogical, or without a basis in sound reasoning. The obvious goal, as is the goal of any zoning, HOA or neighborhood regulations, is to preserve the original intent of the neighborhood and protect residents from those who think they have the right to do whatever they want to do, regardless of their neighbors' opinions.
If someone wants to live somewhere without zoning, land use regulations or community standards, there are areas of the country (& Florida), where that's close to possible. Perhaps somewhere like that would be a better place for those folks to live.

Not in my district unless the changed it from 10 years ago? RVs in my district can only be in driveway or on street for loading and unloading. No maintenance by rules, I can’t even perform maintenance on my car in street or driveway. Boats can be in garage if garage door will close all way.

Banks Must Collect a Physical Address
Under U.S. federal law—such as the USA PATRIOT Act and anti–money laundering (AML) statutes—banks are required to verify a legitimate residential or business physical street address for identity and fraud prevention purposes (KYC rules)

You can buy a house that will hold both in the garage, there are several in TV, however, they are about 2 mil +-.
