Amnesty from what?

Usually it costs money to get rid of these items, but on an amnesty day you can get rid of them for free.

Is this only for Lake County Residents? It’s Sumter county but the links do not really say if you have to be a resident or not. I would assume you would have to be a Sumter county resident.

The Breeden Public Works Building is in Bushnell. For those who don't feel like driving out to Bushnell, there will be another amnesty day on Nov 1st at Lake Okahumpka Park on SR 44.

This is very helpful information. I have a few items I was concerned about, and this works for me (November 1 in Wildwood).

In Marion County we can drop off electronic items any day our recycling center is open.
I use the one by lake Weir.

Why would it cost money? The part can be valuable for recycling, eg Apple pays to get back their used phones.

It is time-consuming and expensive for the county to get rid of paint in old cans. They have to take it to a Class ? dump where it cannot leach into drinking water.

So yes, there normally is a fee, and twice a year it is Free .

I tried to drop off a TV damaged in the lightning storm last week at the place by Lake Weir and they said they no longer accept TVs. They told me to go to the Baseline dump or another place which I didn't pay attention to since I was heading towards Baseline Road anyway after the dump. I guess there were plenty of TVs damaged in the storm because the dumpster for electronics was full of them.

I’m dropping off used car engine oil. That’s got to be worth something?
