I'm not sure how much of this deployment will effect the Villages but here is the news:

In other fiber optic news, Wire 3, a company based in Daytona, is also planning the installation of a fiber optic network in central Florida. Lake County's construction is now underway.
The company's spokesperson says that high-speed, 100% fiber-optic internet will soon be deployed to four Lake County communities — Eustis, Leesburg, Mount Dora and Tavares — as early as this winter.
The 100% fiber-based internet provider began laying down cables in 2021.
Wire 3 offers homes and businesses throughout Florida with "symmetrical, multi-gigabit speeds." Details: wire3.com.
