We are in the process of a full remodel 2 baths and kitchen. Has anyone installed brush gold fixtures? If you have did you have any issues with the finish? What brand fixtures?

My only comment would be they may look nice now because that finish is trendy but, in 10 years they will look dated. Like it was "the early 2020s look".

Do what you like but, you can't go wrong with brushed nickel. That finish has stood the test of time and will remain.

I agree with brushed nickel, also it is my understanding the "gold" finish is very thin, and if this wears you will have a problem.

Are you referring to real gold, or just a gold color? But, either way, it may be in style for awhile, but soon it will go out of style. Also, you usually need to change the door hardware to match the fixture color or it will look tacky. This would include the door handles, locksets, hinges, and doorstops. Personally, I would go with a silver or nickle color.

Not a fan, house down the street had gold fixtures, drawer pulls, faucets. They just looked cheap, wearing quickly, even though they weren’t cheap.

The next owner removed all of it and replaced with brushed nickel.

But if you are in love with the look do what makes you happy

Brushed nickel finish and Moen for the brand. We just removed all our gold fixtures because the looked "dated"
Look into Moen fixtures, they have a lifetime warranty and customer service is great. Our bathroom fixtures have aerators that are a unique size. When they begin to plug from sediment, we call Moen and they send us two new ones for free. Of course they send a 50% off coupon for your next purchase and that cost me big. But that's another story. Good luck!

Several factors to consider. If you can afford to update every 10 yrs and it's what you like enjoy! For us more of a timeless look with less updating is preferred. In our last home we installed all vinyl plank flooring in the newest trend of gray. It wasn't long before we wished for a more timeless look of wood.

The most timeless metal for kitchen and bath is polished chrome for faucets and showers. The newer polish chromes are spot resistance.

I have brushed nickel which came with my house. It’s boring and dull. I’ve changed all my kitchen cabinet handles to brushed brass and will be converting faucets to either chrome or brass. I would suggest you go to Pinterest and look at pictures of kitchens and bathrooms. It’s really ok to mix metals.

Yes IF you can afford the rest of your furniture cabinetry etc to go with the gold, really up-scale, high end. If only the facets etc are gold, even if they are real, they look cosmetic, just like in cheap jewelry.

It is really hard to mix metals and not look like you’ve run out of money while you were updating stuff. But judiciously it can be done. Staying in the same color value, and hue, eg. white (silver) not yellow, and same shine level, eg burnished or shiny. The idea is to co-ordinate to the eye for a harmonious effect. But that is just my view.

That’s so true, in a previous home our bathroom fixtures were high quality gold plated, but the cabinetry was solid raised panel dark cherry with marble tops.
Trendy gets dated, but classy and classic, not so much!

In very limited eyes. It's tacky, tacky, tacky to me and unless brass, a pita to keep in shape. Looks horrid when it starts to go. That said, if your eyes like gold, I think you should do it. I wouldn't worry about "trends" which are designed to keep us all buying.
