I see that the garbage rules say that we may put out an office chair or a dining chair, but I have a set of patio chairs would certainly are small enough to be eligible, but can I put out all four at once or only one at a time?

Put out all four the day BEFORE your trash is picked up. There are people who cruise Villages on days before pickup looking for just that type of thing; sort of a cottage industry.

I owned two homes here in TV for years. If I had something big, I took it over to the house on Waste Management.

The home in Lake county on Waste Management would take anything I put out within reason. Piles of furnature...as long as they could get it in the truck they took it.

I left four plastic patio "PVC" chairs out in my Sumter home and Jacobs wouldn't take it.

There's a saying "The solution to pollution is dilution". A few minutes with the sawszall and a plastic bag...they took it the next time.

I'm in the habit of just cutting up anything larger and stuffing it in a contractor bag then they will take it. There's a weight limit of like 40lbs, so multiple bags are required on occasions.

Have you called them lately? I have and several neighbors have. They seem to be running about 2-3 weeks out. In the past it was usually 2 days at most.

I ended up loading my junk into a friend's truck and hauling it to the dump down off Moyer's loop.

A neighbor called for pickup and left for the season. It sat there about 5 weeks before it finally disappeared. I'm not sure if Jacobs got around to it or someone was fed up and did it themselves.

Jus last month.
Yes, it took a week to schedule the "special pick-up".
I got rid of an old wine cooler, so I jus held it in my garage.

Well, what is wrong with putting out one chair on each trash day? Do they have to go as a set, LOL?

Ever since (in My area) under the new contract we pay more and get less service. Seems to happen every time contracts get renegotiated IMO :p

Nothing except the delay and clutter in my garage. My main concern is that if I try all 4 at once, they might not take ANY!

I agree, just put them stacked out on the driveway the morning before pickup. One man's trash is another man's treasure

If they are in decent condition (clean and not in need of repair), have you considered donating them to Goodwill, Salvation Army, the Habitat Re-store, or any organization or church that helps needy families? Goodwill will pick up, though there may be a few days wait and they will tell you when they are coming.

You will find that if they are in fairly good condition, someone will come and pick them up and probably refurbished them. Or, you can place them at the end of your drive with a “free” sign on them and list them on Facebook marketplace.

There are websites where you can offer those items for free for villagers. Someone will find them useful.

When "your area" is "Somewhere over the rainbow" the munchkins and leprechauns need more help and money to lift heavy items :1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

Maybe TOV website should add a "FREE" category to the list of classifieds.

Much cheaper than burial or cremation.

Yes, even if they are being trashed you should always keep the set together. L0L!

If usable - post to Buy Nothing facebook page, post on next-door for free or on freecycle (Lady Lake) as a way to give away. The normal garbage trucks contents go to the trash for energy program. Certain items do not work with that program and need to be picked up separately and handled differently.

I have given many items away using the methods above, someone gets something they need and it stays out of a land fill - the best kind of recycling.

If you’re on Facebook put a post that says FREE with your address. Whatever you put at the curb will be gone in no time.

Anything south of 44. The $10 is added in your amenities bill automatically you do not have to pay extra. We pay every month for Bulk Pickup whether you have it or not you just must call the Villages. Let them know and they will tell you to put it out the night before so they can notify Jacob’s

Break them down and put them in trash bags and they’ll take them.

I called ahead and for 10 bucks they took my microwave on a scheduled pick-up day. A big truck came through with mattresses, furniture, etc., and tossed my microwave in the truck. You can always put on marketplace or on facebook “free”. Got rid of lots of things that way too.

Definitely not gonna be the most popular option, I had a lot of stuff to get rid of, 60” TV, a few leftover bags of tile cement, rusted patio chairs ect. I loaded it all into my car and took it over to the sumpter county waste dump, $15 bucks and done.
