Neither. Trash is picked up twice a week. Only one bag for us/pickup. If there is more - cardboard etc, we just set it aside until pickup day.
Why does it make a difference what type of house it is?

Because we have a breezeway to put the extra trash.

We don't generate enough trash to require a bin.

On the rare occasion that we need a second bag, we just store the first one in the garage for a day or two.
