Has anyone had any success doing this?

I followed the directions to the letter and, after entering the off/on dates, it asked for a password, but there was no box in which one could be typed.

I logged out, waited half an hour and logged back in, in case it had taken my instructions anyway, but there had been no change.

They are always very good at processing an e-mailed request, but it would be nice to be able to do it oneself.

Also, be aware that the website won't let you sign in from outside the USA, so you can't turn delivery back on before you get back.

With any decent VPN, you can connect from any part of the world.

Call the Sunny, they might not know there is an issue with their online system? When I have called about vacant houses paper delivery they are very nice (Sunny?) people to talk to.

I agree - they are very helpful

I have had them cancel delivery (confirmed), and advised them of the problem (no reply) so I don't know if they are taking any action to fix it, or if it was a temporary glitch

I was hoping that someone on TOTV might have used the facility successfully, or maybe had the same problem as I did

I have had both success and failure. Failure came about when I didn’t save the changes (seems like I had to save twice before exiting the change). But I would like to be able to see the change or get a confirmation via email that the change was accepted. Once I realized that I needed to revise my change I called the newspaper.

I just call them, much easier and faster. Never get put on hold for more than about a minute. It’s an absolute pleasure to still be able to make a phone call, not get screened by AI, get put on hold for a long time, and then get someone on the other end that barely speaks recognizable English.

Very true, didnt know there were other ways to put in vacation hold

I successfully used it yesterday. I believe you need to create a second login and password before it will work. It’s all in the instructions on the website

I’ve never been able to get it to work online. I’ve also reported the issue but I just call now. I just try to keep my expectations low about all IT services in TV. They are pretty dreadful.

This cracks me up! The most non-intuitive web app ever. And when you call and say you are having trouble, they say have you read the (lengthy, confusing) instructions? Instead of writing instructions and fielding calls, they should simply make the app work like every other app in the world. Thanks for the laugh this morning.

Same here. Always a friendly, local voice.

I did it yesterday with no problem. You don’t need to to sign in internationally because you enter the vacation start and stop dates when you make the original entry. As usual with Villages related apps, it is like entering something using 1995 technology, but it works when you remember at 10pm and can’t call the office.

I have tried to do it on the website many times and always had to call in to get it done.

Thank you, Accidental1

Yes, I did that, waited the 30 minutes for it to be processed then logged back in and went to Manage Your Subscription

I followed those directions which, as noted in a previous post, requires one to Save Changes twice. It was at this point that "Enter Password" appeared again, with nowhere for the password to be entered.

They have processed my request manually, and my Status is now showing Vacation/Stopped

Will be interesting to see if they have the problem fixed when I return from vacation and wish to restart delivery

I know this doesn’t answer your question but my wife always calls to put the paper on hold AND the restart date.

It only takes a minute to do and it has always worked flawlessly since 2010…..

Easiest way to do it is send an email. circulation.dailysun@thevillagesmedia.com

Leave your address and start and stop dates. You’ll get a confirmation email.

Website has issues for sure!

No success, use email.
I managed to get the website to record my vacation dates, but when I got back ten days later, all newspapers had been delivered
Going back to email that worked.

Tried and tested! Often the best way.
