Hi all,

I have a couple of questions about passport renewal.

1. I know that there are some Villages that have delayed mail delivery service on a consistent basis. Would anyone be willing to enumerate those particular Villages? DM is fine if you don't want to post publicly.

2. For those of you that have renewed your passport by mail AND you're in one of the "problem spots" - was the passport returned without problems or you experienced the same issues?

3. Would it be valuable to open a P.O. Box at a UPS store or a Mailboxes Etc. for this particular purpose? Perhaps use this instead of your "street address" for time-sensitive items?

Many thanks in advance!

You are overthinking this. Just send in your passport application. It will be fine. If you are really worried use express service.

To partially address your question, I have renewed one of my kid's passports in the past year using my Shady Brook address and Shady Brook postal center without issue.

My wife just renewed her passport using the on-line application. She submitted the application on a Friday and received her new passport the following Saturday. Your mileage may vary. Past performance is no guarantee of future returns.

Get USPS informed delivery so you can see via email when your mail will arrive. I think there is approximately a one day delay in our mail to the mail station from the post office.
