View Full Version : Please excuse our downtime
We have been having a terrible time finding a software problem with our forum software. It is causing our server to overload and ultimate hang or crash. Our hardware host does not think it is a hardware problem. So far today we have had to rebuild the hard drives, and restart the server twice.
For most of today we have been chasing a software problem.
Please bear with us as we develop a few more gary hairs. This has not been a fun day.

Tony (gary hairs and all, as pointed out by gn :) ) - Given the nature of the beast you're dealing with (small, privately run web site, etc.), I think the amount of system up-time vs. down-time is super. The efforts on the part of all the admins are appreciated!
Bill
gary hairs are those little ones on the back of your neck that stand up when you're not too happy with all the computer crashes and then making a typing mistake that somebody points out so as to make more gary hairs stand up.
Is there an English major around, perhaps, who can diagram that sentence for golfnut?

Thanks Tony - I've been in your shoes more than I care to remember and often the efforts go unappreciated - I know. Your efforts are appreciated....:MOJE_whot:

Hi golfnut,
I, too, wondered about those "gary hairs" Mr. Tony was talking about. (There were a couple of Garys at my class reunion, but I think they had forgotten a lot of what they used to know about gary hairs.)
But, at least, we should all be glad that he did not say "bare with us." Thank goodness that part of Mr. Tony's post turned out OK.

Hey Barb,
Well, thank goodness we were all spared from having to bear such a thing because of a typo typed by Mr. Tony, Mr. Admin, Sir.
Can you imagine!
Oh my!
The rumors that would fly! ............
"Once upon a time there were 3 bares" -- in the Land of TOTV.....
And then there were 4, then 5, then 6, then 7, then......
Aaaaaaaugh!!!!!
That Blechman kid would have a field day with that one -- and it all would have started with just a little typo.
