Has anyone been there? They advertise 30 fresh shucked oysters for $10. Seems to cheap to be true.

We have not been to the Magnolia yet. But Oceans Grill in Leesburg does the same deal on Mondays. We took a very large group there about a month ago and had many of the $10 buckets they were fantastic and a heck of a bargin. Lots of other dishes ordered too and everything was great.

They are both owned by members of the same family. They are great people.

I had a dozen oysters there the other night and only 8 of them worked. My wife was mildly disappointed later that evening.

 Barefoot, come on. You know better then that. Oysters are supposed to be good for the male libido. He is suggesting he could only handle 8 times in the one night so some of them didn't work and his wife was disappointed because they all didn't do the job. I guess we all should go and see if it's true. :evil6:

Thanks 12ridehd. That one went right over my head! Duh. I just deleted all my stupid quesitons about fresh oysters. Male libido .. I guess I haven't heard my friends talk about 8 times a night for a long, long while.

My Wife and I went to Magnolia's twice during August on a Saturday night and had the thirty oysters for $10 deal. Even though it was not an "R" month, the oysters were very, very good. We had them raw but they also steam them if preferred. We asked where they came from and were told Appalachicola, FL up in the panhandle, some of the best oysters to be found in FL. Magnolia's is just a small neighborhood place but don't be turned off. The food and folks are great!

Took a bunch there a couple weeks ago. Nice little neighborhood eatery. Service was good, oysters were excellent and you do get 30 for 10, but I had to get 60 for 20, still a good deal. We all decided that we would go back again and we also want to try the other oyster bar.

I thought it was kind of a run down place. Very few tables. Very limited menu if you don't like oysters. Hubby does, I don't. I ordered a pasta dish and it took them 15 mintues before they told me they were out of pasta. HUH??
Anyway, Hubby loves it so we will go back. I might pack my own protein bar....
