In this month's AARP magazine, in the consumer warning section, there is a segment warning about future utility rate hikes. Governor Scott has stated he wants to give utility rate advantages to present and future businesses, to increase job creation. The state utilities are publicly owned companies, answerable to their stockholders. Any loss in revenue will have to be made up somewhere. Residential fees will have to be raised.
