Somewhere in a previous post a reference was made to Carabbas Amici Club. I’m not in TV yet, but there is one across the street from where I work so I signed up. They recently sent me an invitation to a tour of the restaurant with ‘tastings’ so I thought I’d share my experience (one guest was allowed).

We started off with a glass of blackberry sangria (very good). Then we visited the Pasta bar where they treated us to pumpkin butternut squash ravioli and another glass of sangria.

Next we sat down to minestrone soup and fillet tips on a skewer with polenta topped with something I couldn’t pronounce as an example of an in-house luncheon party. I debated about another glass of sangria, but my freind reminded me that we did have to go back to work. Needless to say I won't invite her next time.

Lastly, we sat down to Caesar salad, cavatappi amatriciana and chicken marsala as an example of their catering menu. And best of all, doggie bags were also available for leftovers.

But, I’m not through yet – as a parting gift we were given a takeout bag with salad and lasagna.

So, as I waddled back to work I wondered how I was going to stay awake all afternoon. Oh, but wait - I'm a short timer having already told them I'm retiring soon. Damn - should have had more sangria.

Definitely a good deal and a very pleasant experience – I would highly recommend it.

We were invited to do that here in the Villages a few months back. It's was one thing to have everything they gave us, but then giving us the take home meal. How awesome.

Just signed up for Amici Club ... got an email with a coupon for a free appetizer ... what did I miss? Or have they stopped doing this?

They don't do this all the time. It's a random thing. But when they do have it. Some Amici Club Members will get invited.
