maybe talkhost can explain why we can no longer view the latest posts at the bottom of our screen in laymans terms (I saw the previous post about bandwidth which means nothing to me)...gn

There is no conspiracy. That part of the page was eating up a lot of our resources. Talk of The Villages went through three days of serious downtime last week. We were offline for many hours over a three day period. We hired an outside IT expert to revamp the system and tune it up. He said that since "recent posts" are available in two other locations on the site, it would be prudent to eliminate the ones at the bottom.

If we continue to have server problems, we are faced with a very expensive upgrade to a much larger server.

I too, miss them at the bottom, but find what I need in the other two locations. I'll check with our IT guys and see if we can put it back without causing more server trouble.

I find clicking on "New Posts" at the top of the page even more convenient than the old scroll to the bottom of the page. I never noticed it there before. thanks Admins.

And if the "30 second clock" gets in your way, you can just page backwards to get back to the listing of posts. Then click periodically on the "New Posts" at the top of the page to refresh the list.
