Would appreciate some names of people who power wash our houses, along with what they charge. Thanks in advance!

Witte's Washing. 352-561-4832. He lives in Duval. He's a neighbor of my handy man, who told me my house needed washing (there was black mildew in some shady areas). Witte uses a special solution (not bleach), he washed the roof too, and the windows and inside the lanai. House looked better than new and still does, months later. $60.

Are we talking stucco, vinyl or both in these recommendations?

I have used Egner's Exterior Cleaning for 7 years and their price of $52 hasn't changed that whole time. They are here on time, every time and do great work. Their number is 352-728-8537.

we use Egner's also, paid $50 recently - I think but can't remember for sure, that the price has actually gone down - increased competition?

We had our Designer done two weeks ago and had a fantastic job done by Egner's. They use "low pressure" which is what I wanted. He explained it this way, low pressure but has a larger quanity of water. Charged me $52.00 for the house, $10.00 for the Lanai and $25.00 for some stubborn spots where the roof bled on the siding. He had to get some strong soap and a brush to scrub it by hand.

Will I use them again, you bet I will. :BigApplause:

I called the above number, and got someone else. Has Mr. Witte moved or gotten another phone number?

We have paid $35 with bleach which I prefer because the away from the sun parts of our frame Camellia need it. I don't think of bleach as bad. It kills those little, LITTLE things and makes things brighter.

(You can tell I am from Tide country in Cincinnati)

I think I paid too much. I have been using Egners and this was the first time I had the birdcage done. I paid $117 and he didn't do as good a job as the young man the previous year who charged a whole lot less. I am going to get an estimate next year. I did not have any stains - just some bird feathers on the top of the bird cage.

Ours was a young man too, a proud father of two small children (he showed us their pictures)and he must have been there for well past an hour, maybe two. He sprayed on soap or cleanser first and when he left, the whole house just sparkled....including the inside of the lanai. He looked like a clean cut nice person too.

We moved the lanai furniture indoors before he came.

He was so honest and nice and I just called Sweetie, and he doesn't remember his name either. Jojo...could it have been the young man who did your property?

Did you write the fellow a check? If so, look through your check register - perhaps you made the check out to him personally. :)

No. Sweetie always tries to give cash for such a good job.

You know, if he needs to pick up some bread and milk on the way home, he doesn't have to stop at the bank...

Jon did ours previously and was very thorough. Derek did this year and was in a rush. I pointed out several places that needed to be redone. And as I noted I paid over twic as much this year.

Anyone have recent experience with pressure washing companies? I have a CBS CYV and also need black marks on driveway and stains on patio removed. Can they power wash an acrylic enclosed lanai? I was thinking of using Egner's'. Any comments? Thanks.

Anyone could power wash a house in 1 or 2 hours. I have a hard time believing it would be as clean as I would want.I do my own twice a year and it takes me at least 5 hours sometimes more . When I'm done I know it's done completely.I was hoping to be able to do this when I first moved here as a small money maker but cannot compete with the prices others are getting .

Interesting I was reading this thread and saw a red SUV with trailer pull up to house across the street and it was Egner's. I watched him wash the 2 bedroom ranch and it took only 20 min's of washing time and 5 minutes to set up and tear down afterwards.

He sprayed using the same house but drawing the "solution" at lower pressure on two sides and rear then did the rinse using higher "fan" pressure on those 3 sides then came around front and did the two operations there... Gone. 25 min's.

Still on the fence.. I did my amarillo-style house in April and it took me about 3 hours using hand brush and power washer (small electric type). Was slow having to move the electrical cord and hose around to different locations, etc. Solution I used was KrudKutter siding wash solution from Home Depot.

We use Egner's too. However we have a premier home therefore price is double plus. They do a great job on the exterior and lanai and the windows look terrific . No complaints at all. Takes him about an hour..:BigApplause:

I believe twice a year! You are not an idiot as if you don't you will get mildew on your siding from the extreme humidity we have here. You might see this on homes outside of The Villages...and it's not pretty!

Does washing twice a year apply to stucco homes too ?.

In January, we got a quote from Stellar on power washing our house and birdcage. It seemed high, so we called Egners for a quote. Egners quote was exactly half the Stellar price, and they did a fine job.

I am very concerned about anyone using a "power washer" that many have outputs of 2000 pounds per square inch (psi) and greater. Especially if they are hitting the siding at the wrong angle with the nozzle to close.
I hv seen contractors spraying the house with solution then water rinsing off of owner's outside spigot (50 to 60 psi) and the house looks clean.

We had our sided Camellia in Hadley powerwashed three or four times in the three years we lived there. They sprayed on a bleachy smelling solution to quell the mold and powerwashed it. It was 35 dollars and 45 or 50 if they did the lanai. We moved the lanai furniture out. They did a great job and the house sparkled. In between times we would brush the bugs off the front entry and garage way with a broom. I still don't know why bugs congregate there.

Powerwashing is common here and I haven't seen it harm anyone's home but I am open to hear other experiences. There are a gazillion guys doing it for that price.

The problem is, if you don't get the mold off routinely it becomes very difficult to remove it.

The Morses don't cause the mold. I am sure of that.
