On our recent visit we took a golf cart tour of the new excavation going on across 466A. As we rode along the new paths we came across a driving range that had the golfers driving their balls(golf) into a lake that had been added to the landscape. I thought this was very strange but being a non-golfer I figured you guys would have the answer. Is there a big net there that they drag the balls out with? If not how do they retrieve the balls or don't they? Tossing and turning over this poser.

The golf balls at "water ranges" float, they pick them out of the water at the shore where the wind has blown them into. Because they are lighter they also travel about 10% less yardage I understand.

Don't know about the new one, but at Lopez driving range, you hit range balls (not your own balls) into the lake and TV collects them and returns them for reuse. They are special floating balls.

All you have to do is reach in their mouth to get them.
