We've put out hummingbird feeders along with grape jelly & orange halves for the orioles but haven't had any luck! We live where our backyard is a horse farm so we get all kinds of birds but still no orioles or hummingbirds!

We saw the first hummer on March 9th this year. That's 3 weeks earlier than the previous two years. We've watched him dine at the feeder and also on the salvia and coral honeysuckle, both of which are blooming now.

We love all of our "hummies" up here in NY.
I hope we can have them at our Florida home, but in the 5 years we have owned our Florida home, I've yet to see one. We are not yet full time there, so perhaps there is still hope.
Are Orioles really down in Florida too? We have an Oriole feeder and enjoy them also every summer up here in NY....I thought that was one of the things we were giving up moving to Florida.....

I haven't put a feeder out here YET. If we put them out they'll show up eventually.

I live in SE Georgia and have had hummers since March 17th, have seen them in the past as early as March 10th. I enjoy watching them at the feeder outside the computer room.

If you enjoy hummingbirds, you will like this and all this patience and tenderness from a young teenager

Wow! What a great video. It warmed my heart and renewed my faith in humankind...especially the teenaged kind. Thanks for posting. I'll certainly share that one.

Do you need to have it OKed to put a bird feeder on a post in your yard? We'll be in Buttonwood. I'm going to miss my bluebirds. I have 5 houses on our property.:(

I have 4 feeders in an oak tree in my CYV backyard, but have also seen lots of feeders in backyards of designers and ranches I pass on my travels around TV. Not supposed to have standing water birdbaths, though (mosquito control). OK to have moving water (things with fountains).

Have seen bluebirds on the fence about 3 times, not in the feeders though.
