I have been following the threads on dogs in TV. I have noted that there are several dog parks which I plan on utilizing. I have a golden retriever and a small lab mix. They both love to swim. So my question is are there places in the dog parks or in the TV that dogs can swim in?:ho:

Doggie Doo Run has a small round plastic type pool that the dogs love to get in and roll around. Not large enough for swimming but big enough for them to get wet and cool off

I know those golden retrievers love to swim. Be extremely cautious about letting your dogs swim in ponds or lakes in Florida. You will not see the 'gator that will see your dog. There are also lots of venomous snakes around ponds and lakes.
You cannot tell where an alligator might be since they do move from pond to pond. Even the lakes such as Lake Miona have 'gators.

Ditto on the gator in lakes issue and Doggie Doo Run Run is excellent for letting the dogs run and socialize. My pup loves the little pool, such as it is - but does the job with a cool off. Also, when you leave, they have a big washtub you can wash the dog off in.....great place!

The small dog section of Doggie Doo Run Run (for dogs 30 lbs and under) has a above ground pool under a kind of shelter. The small dogs can swim in this pool a little bit. It does get really dirty at times though.

I was told by a lab owner that her dog swims all the time in Lake Weir. She said there is a dog beach there where dogs swim. I asked her about gators and she said that there aren't any there. I don't believe her, and I would never, ever let my dogs swim in any lakes here.
A lot of people in TV have kiddie wading pools for their big dogs, just to get wet and roll around. Not a very good solution, but the dogs seem to love them.
There are dog parks on the ocean where dogs can swim. I've been to one beach in Flagler that allows dogs (about 1 1/4 hrs from TV on the east coast). I'm told there are fenced dog parks on the ocean at Fort De Sota, south of Tampa, and one around Daytona Beach. You can find them on the internet.
One thing I do miss in The Villages is the ocean!
