I am desperately trying to find some help for a little tiger cat who showed up in our neighborhood a couple of weeks ago. My guess is that she is under a year old and may be pregnant. I simply don't have the room to take her in - I'm in a patio villa and I have a dog and a cat myself and my garage and lanai are way too hot. I have sent a few emails to some rescue agencies, but no luck so far. In the past, I have been able to find homes for three other strays and provided neutering and shots for one. If I could find a foster home for her, I would certainly help out in any way I could. Thank you for any assistance.

Try Pet Lovers Rescue, a non-profit group. Petco gave me their names.
I adopted my cat from them three years ago and hope they are still in business.
They work with them and, from what I understood, keep them in their homes and train before introducing them to you.

Good luck.

There are so many stray cats in the Villages it is very sad. Glad you are trying to help this one. I adopted a cat from the Leesburg Humane Society about a month ago and they may be able to help but you would probably have to trap the kitty and take it there. It is a no kill shelter...they have a ton of cats there...Leesburg Humane Society, 41250 Emeralda Island Rd., Leesburg, FL 34788 Telephone: (352) 669-3312:BigApplause:

I've had an offer which I will follow up on tonight. The kitty won't have to be trapped, she is a very loveable little girl. She usually comes in the evening - probably seeks shade during the day. Hope she is here tonight. Wish me luck!! It breaks my heart to see this type of thing - when are people going to accept responsibility?? Probably, not in my lifetime.

It appears that she is not feral which is a good thing. She was probably abondoned when it was discovered she was pregnant. Feral cats can be quite ferocious so it's best that she find a home soon. A woman at PetSmart in TV told me that they adopt out a high percentage of cats compared to other PetSmarts and that they have good luck adopting out senior cats as well. My prayers are with you.

Precious Paws rescue in Floral City took the kitty. I am so grateful to them!!! It was a 45 minute ride and she was so good. She's safe and cared for now. :clap2: Of course, I'm getting the cold shoulder from my cat now because the kitty stayed on our lanai overnight. Oh well, she'll get over it.

Thanks everyone. Latest update - she is in her foster home and has her own little area where she is comfortable and can have her babies safely. I'm so grateful for a happy ending. Her foster mom said she will let me know when she has her kittens. I can sleep well tonight knowing she is being cared for, not scrounging in garbage for food or having her babies in a bush someplace and unable to provide nourishment for them. :clap2:

mfp509, I am so glad you found a good home for her. I know the foster home will be a temporary solution, but still a real positive step. I hope your kindness comes back to you many fold.
