Property Tax question on adding spa

I have heard in other posts that when you add an inground spa it will add to your property tax versus a above ground spa you buy and have delivered. I know the amount will vary villa to villa, but what would a good ball-park amount be that it would increase by? We are trying to figure out which way to go.

Sounds like you can afford the higher cost of an in-gound if you are really considering it. That's the big question, of course. If your tax assessment is increased it will be a small factor.

I have met five TV'rs who have above-ground spas and wish they had opted for in-grounds instead. Every one of the dissatisfied folks has gotten tired of, or nervous about climbing in and out of above-ground spas, and the need for extra maintenance and chemical use. They end up using the spa less and less over time.

In-grounds require less work, and almost none if they are combined with a small pool. I also love the fact that in-grounds look beautiful, instead of clunky, seem to take less space in the birdcage, and do increase the resale value of the property.

In ground is all well and good but you don't get nearly the seating and jet options you would in an Above Ground/Portable Spa.
There are many different ways to install a portable Spa to increase safety. One of the ways which is the safest is to build decking and insert the spa so that half of it is below the deck and then make sure to have a strong railing so that getting in and out is much safer.
Another option is to purchase or build extra wide/deep spa steps which provide a good sturdy landing. There are even steps you can purchase with storage in them.

Resale is not always a positive with pools or built in spas. I have seen many homes people loved but did not buy due to a built in.
