We will be moving down soon ,so far I'm thinking a used gas yamaha hoping to be in the $3500 range ,Any thoughts on the subject would be much appreciated such as reliability,maintenance or anything anyone might be able to share with me from their own experiences THANK YOU.....see you soon

That is what I did for my first golf cart and still have it. I have since bought a second cart and will keep that first one for a long time. For a good trouble free first cart it is difficult to find anything much better then a gas Yamaha.

Another vote for the Yamaha. My poor cart is seriously overworked -- probably 100-200 miles per week (constantly going from one end of TV to the other). It is a 2001. I bought it used 2 years ago with the engine having been refurbished a year before that. Since I've owned it, it has had semi-annual tuneups, the carb cleaned, the generator brushes replaced and will be getting new spacers in the next week or two. They really are remarkable carts and will go and go for you. You can't go wrong in getting one (unless you somehow get a true lemon).

Bought a '96 Yamaha Gas last year for $2,200 and all I do is put gas in it and check the oil once a month and it goes everywhere with no issues.

Have 2005 Yamaha Gas. Gas and Go has been the game with it. Do the routine service and check oil. Love it.

I've been running a fleet of Yamahas at 2 courses up here for 10 years and the maintenance is VERY low BUT don't skimp on changing oil, plugs and filters once a year.... With proper care they will out live me...

I bought a 1998 gas Yamaha five years ago and it's still going strong. I never even check the oil. It has an oil warning light on it. Run premium gas and use blue Sta-Bil with every fill up. Very trouble free.

We bought a used gas Yamaha (2004, I think). It runs great. Only problem is it uses so little gas, it's easy to forget to think about it. You do have to remember every once in a while to check the gas gauge. :)

Thanks folks for all the input,went in the villages golf cart store truely thinking 3500, went back the next day , came out way over budget with huge smile on my face.It was all Starbaby's fault she says it really makes the red shutters on her new home pop,well anyway Chris of the villages golf cart store says the paint should be dry in about 3 to 4 weeks :-)

not knowing much about golf carts could you please tell me what the new "spacers" are and what do they do ??? thank you
