I am a new resident (January, 2011) and I need a knee doctor. I know it is an orthopist but I can't spell it! Can anyone recommend a doctor?

Dr. David Ethier on Rt. 301 in Belleview. Did 2 surgeries on me and awaiting a third one in September. He is wonderful. Does his surgeries in Munroe Regional Med. Ctr. in Ocala (rated safest hosp in Fl).

Hubby uses Dr. Cowin too and he has been great. I go with him to the appts. and the only thing I would say is have your questions written down....he is a very busy man. Kind of a quirky guy, but very knowledgeable.

The very best I have found in this area is tri-county orthopedic on 466 just before rolling acres and located in The Summit prof. bldg.

Dr Cowin did a surgical repair on my broken ankle a couple of years ago. I walk great now. Never a problem. I met an orthopedic surgeon in the pool on day shortly after my surgery. I was practicing walking in the water. He said I would never walk the same again. He was wrong!

lynn is always a comedienne! i had my wrist fixed at tri-county orthopedic but i went to a seminar on knee surgery by a dr. steve Nguyen in orlando and maitland and i decided if i ever needed surgery i would use him...he developed a less invasive procedure...check it out on www.freedom-knee.com
his number is 407-355-3120. hope you don't need surgery!

by the way, his card says Orthopaedic....the fancy spelling!

I use Dr. Thomas in that same group, but I go to the Leesburg office. I think she is brilliant and very easy to work with. She has been giving me cortisone shots, rather than any surgery, and it has been working very well. I like a lot, she's very pragmatic and will give you alternative solutions to surgery. My kinda woman!!!!
(and I can still dance, dance, dance!! YAY!!!)

I go to Dr. Monique Grey who in with the same practice as Dr. Cowan at Florida Musculoskeletal Institute. She is doing arthroscopy surgery Monday for a torn meniscus. Will know soon how this works out. Need to get back to pickleball, as I am having withdrawls. These doctors love us jocks.
