My wife and I just returned from a great week of cruising aboard the very large Norwegian Epic. But a funny thought occurred to me one morning at breakfast while we were looking over the daily sheet of the day's shipboard activities. I do the exact same thing in the Villages! Except for the free food (which isn't really free at all), everyday at TV is just like cruising!

Quite simply - The Villages is the worlds largest cruise ship!

The Villages is just like a cruise ship. With one huge exception. The ocean.
And I have to confess, I really miss living on water.

Me too, Bare......Being an hour or so away from the ocean is not the same.

When I am on a cruise ship, I think about the miles of deep dark cold water underneath me and wonder if I should have paid more attention at swim lessons.

I also wake up sweating dreaming of that scene in the movie where the ship is upside down with it's lights on.

I also do not like the little itty bitty rooms.

But other than that it is nice.

In New York I live on an island and do NOT miss the ocean, though I know it is important to some to see/hear/smell/swim in it.

My wife and I offen talk about the Villages and think it is like a cruise. Glad to hear that some also think so. In 1 year 1 month and 4 days we will find out as that is our move date to the Villages. No, we are not counting the days or anything :>)
