She died Tuesday from a brain hemorrhage at age 60. I always loved her voice. Her octave range was truly remarkable. While "Poetry Man" was her big hit, one of my favorite songs by her was "The Married Men." She's also done a few voice overs recently.

Absolutely one of my favorites. She was one heck of a lady too.

An incredible talent. What a voice.
She used to be a semi regular up in Woodstock, the real one in Ulster County, NY, not the festival site in Sullivan County, NY. A lot of talented musicians there and she was one of the best.
She got sick over a year ago and I understand that she had a rough time. Too bad, she was like no other.

Shirlee, ask the young 'uns if they've ever heard the commercial for General Foods International Coffee -- that's Phoebe singing "Celebrate the Moments of Your Life." I remember the first time I heard that commercial and swearing it was Phoebe singing. Won $50. I believe she sang the theme song for A Different World.
