Went to Cane Garden tonight (Monday) to try their prix fixe menu - Soup or salad followed by an entree and dessert - $11.95. I had the steak and my wife had the Teriyaki Chicken. Both were excellent washed down with a half giraffe of wine. Service was good too. Great value. Allan.

Just curious: was the wine served in a long-necked bottle? ;)

Well, South Africa is famous for its wines - I guess giraffes could be involved...

Half a giraffe - not a whole one!

There are kidding you. :)

I think you meant carafe.

Thank you for your post. It's always nice to hear of good reviews.

No - I definitely meant giraffe - I know what a carafe is and this was definitely an animal with a long neck and long legs! :throwtomatoes:

 I'm sorry I misunderstood. Wasn't meant to be critical. :)

They served it in a half-giraffe. How adorable!

I sensed that you intentionally wrote "giraffe" as a clever malaprop (well done, btw!). That's why I felt comfortable making the pun.

Sounds like a real bargain.

Just to make you feel good about the Villages, we are into our 6th consecutive day of rain here in Maryland. Can't wait to sell our home so we can join you.

That sounds like a great deal. Cane Garden is one of our favorite restaurants. Thanks!

Living in TV, we have only the best. But look at the unfortunate folks at the other retirement communties nearby:

On the plus side, they found the other half of Bowlees' giraffe!
