I went to Sam's Club today and filled my tank after shopping. Sam's gas price for regular $3.549. On my trip home I passed by the Colony Shell station their posted price was $3.549.

Is that legal? Even if you use a Shell credit card you have to pay the higher price!:rant-rave:

They have to pay the credit card company a percent of what you charged, so they hit you with the charge. That station routinely charges .10 or more per gal if you charge.

FWIW: We bought fuel at the Colony Shell several times during the week of Memorial Day. It was the same price for cash or credit and was reflected as such on the pumps. I used a credit card and the price came up same as what was advertised on the station's sign which also matched what was on the pump.

They used to have a sign on the gas price sign which said Cash price (or something to that effect) I have not seen that sign lately. It looks like they dropped that price difference. I've gotten gas there once when that sign was up and I believe the price difference per gallon was 7 cents. Since I have a Prius with a fairly small tank I figured my credit card price difference was less than 75 cents.
