A LITTLE QUIZ FOR THE KNOW-IT-ALLS ..................................
This is a terrific and incredibly easy test. And it shows results in a number of ways
It clearly indicates that the majority of Americans don't
have a clue about what's going on in the world (except in The Villages, of course (!!!)
No wonder our politicians take such advantage of us. It's astonishing that so many people got less
than half right. These results say that 80% of the (voting) public doesn't have a clue, and that's pretty scary.
There are no tricks here - just a simple test to see if you are current on your information.
This is quite good and the results are surprising.
Test your knowledge with 11 questions, then be ready to shudder when you see how others did.
(My score was 9. :sigh:)

I feared I would get very few, but I got all but the last one. It is pretty scary that so many folks would get 2,3,4 or even 5 correct in a test like this..... and be allowed to vote!

I'm part of the 2 percent of the public.

Politicians want to dumb-down the education system so they can manipulate the voters.

This quiz comes out every once in a while. I enjoy taking it and passing it on to my friends.
I got my usual 9.

I can't believe people would get these wrong. You should be able answer most of these if you just pay attention.

missed # 5 about US spending. Only about 30% got it correct - still don't know correct answer.

got 9 but looked at the details on what I got wrong and Republicans control the House of Rep. and it marked it wrong, took it again and marked it correct, did not think a computer program glitch could do that, so I got a 10, missed Medicare which is the biggest part of spending, thought it was debt payments.

Yea, got all 11. I suspect most Villagers do well on this current-events test. It got me thinking that this is another way in which TV is sort of a bubble.

When you get the results look to the left. There is a link to the correct answers.

.I join both of you with a 10 and I got the same question wrong. The way the national debt is soaring though, I think it will soon be the correct answer (although I hope it doesn't) and all 3 of us should then be elevated to the full 11 when it happens and those that got all 11 now get demoted! :throwtomatoes:

I missed the same one too!
I had Jim take it and he got 9. He missed the spending and obesity question. The funny thing is he watches more news programs than me. But I can hear what he is watching from the other end of the house!

I also got #5 US spending wrong and a recent walk through the local mall swayed my answer about obesity.

Got all 11 right. #5 is a poor question. Medicare is the most from the list but we spend billions more for military and the Pentagon programs. Our country spends 14 times what the rest of the whole world together spends on their weapons and military. Just check the pie graph from the budget office.

For most Villagers I am guessing it was an easy test. Why, Because it addressed important current events. I scored a 10 which is probably average for a Villager. :o

I got 9 right. I knew the answer to # 5 question but my brain said, trick question so I over thought it and selected something different.
Totally missed #11.

Sounds like I'm about par with many of you: 9, missing the same ones as most!
It would be instructive, and undoubtedly disappointing, to see how our youngers might do: Especially, the 30-45 year olds; the college kids, and of course high schoolers!

I shudder to think...Only 12% of people in their 20's knew there were 13 original colonies, let alone be able to name them. If you have little knowledge of civics and/or history how can you be a knowwledge and responsible citizen

10/11 missed #6, the obese question. Marked the 50%. I guess I was only half right on that one.
