We're up north away from our home in St. Charles and we're wondering if The Villages is getting normal rainfall this summer? It has been so dry over the past several months, we're hoping that you're getting at least some rain this summer.

No - our rainfall is way behind normal. The rainy season usually starts the last week in May and the humidity level skyrockets. This hasn't happened yet and it is reflected in the way TV looks. The golf courses are really struggling for water, particulary on the south side of 466 and ponds are nearly dry. There are a lot of wildfires in Florida and you can smell smoke here in TV and see a haze in the air. This morning, the sun was red as is rose in the sky from the smoke in the air. Everybody do their rain dance, go wash your car or anything else you can think of to let it pour!

Thanks for the site, i have been looking for some place with past data.
Could not tell where the data for TV is coming from. As you know it can be raining in Mulberry and not in Lake Sumter landing.

Just for the record-Accuweather shows 3.75 inches of total rainfall in Lady Lake from Jan. 1-April 18. That's 3 1/2 months. Averaging aout an inch a month!!! Hardly enough!!!

I would almost guarantee that the southern end of the villages has not gotten even half that amount since January! Also the lakes on Heron and Pelican are bone dry!

Did you notice in Russ Boston's linked weather report that it has not snowed in The Villages all winter long. No shoveling ... No snow blowing.

We had a cold front come thru the last two days with a bad band of thunderstorms sat nite the 21st i believe. Anyway it rained friday and sat at my place in santo domingo and i got a total of 3 and 1/2 inches. Emptied my rain gauge three different times in the two day time period. It all soaked in.

The pond behind my house and the back end of colony plaza was so dry, the ducks were walking in it... Awwww, I felt so bad. But,, its now about 1/2 way full, so let's do more rain dancing.

My neighbor with a rain gage said we got a little over 7 inches here in Belvedere. It really rained hard for about 3 hours Saturday night and at least an hour of hard rain on Friday. all the ponds around us seem to be close to full.
