It is a Libertarian site, if that means anything. It told me I was Centrist. I had to laugh at that conclusion.

I don't think I've seen as slanted a 'poll' as that in a long time. Plenty of good topics there that warrant more than a Yes/No/Maybe answer. I felt that some of the questions there should have ended with the phrase "...and damn the consequences", even though I might agree with the principle.

Exactly what I thought, and is why I answered "maybe" a lot and was annointed a "centrist".

I was pegged 90% Libertarian on Personal issues and 100% Libertarian on Economic issues...I would never have put myself that far out there. Gotta agree with all of your conclusions.

Richie,
Hey, buddy, you should have told everyone the truth about you testing as a LIBERAL.
Would you believe I came out as Liberal? Yes, I did - and doggone proud of it.
How did the "meeting of the great minds" do on Monday night? I took Mrs. Buggy to Savannah Center for a concert based on Phantom of the Opera. Very good music - but no Yeunglings.

Rubicon,
Did it maybe say you were Michelle Bachmann's long-lost brother? Kind of an interesting quiz, wasn't it? I liked it but figured out long time ago I was liberal and proud of it.

Centrist
Centrist. Is that someone in the middle who cannot commit to one way or the other? Is that like a Senator voting "present" when he doesn't want a paper trail? Give me a break. Like they say, either lead or get out of the way.
This isn't a reflection of anybody here, just the test itself.

You know on some social issues I could be classified as "liberal", but there's no one I know who would even consider labeling me as one.
You a Liberal??!!; I beside myself with shock. We'll get some press briefings out immediately announcing and clarifying this remarkable test result.
Without you there was nobody to put me in my place, and George wasn't up to the challenge as he was heavily into the enjoyment of a few rounds of scotch. You can't argue with a glass of good scotch in your hands, I guess.

Centrist could be defined as someon who might agree with one side or the other depending on the individual issue at hand.

And isn't this the way it should be? I would love to see a candidate whose positions are NOT already known once you know the party affiliation.

Exactly. Saying a "Centrist" is a "person who can't commit" is just another way of trying to insult someone.
I refuse to be pidgeonholed.

I need to remember how to spell Centrist. I think maybe I am not a true Conservative if what you say in your definition is a truism.
