Hello all, what a wonderful site, all of your comments are great, very helpful.

Just purchased a site on allee lane, trying to organize my thoughts regarding spec for the house.

Will be meeting with the design team in October
any do's or don'ts We should be aware of

Any advice will be greatly appreciated

Orps1, Congratulations and welcome to TOTV. I'm sure the experienced Villagers will be giving you tips. If you keep reading TOTV, you will learn a lot about TV before you move into your home. :welcome:

Hi Orps1 and congratulations on your purchase on Allee Ln. My GaPeach and I are building on Baker Ln. next street over. We just came back from meeting with the design team (Heather)this past week. Do expect to make a lot of decisions, and Don't worry about the process. TV has this down to a science almost. It was actually a lot of fun. Plan to spend 3-5 hours with the design person and enjoy the process! Expect the building to move along quickly once the design plan is completed. Our build will be complete in 70 days! Welcome to Sanibel neighbor! And, Y'all come visit, ya heah!

 Orps1,
Welcome to TOTV. Like TV, it's a wonderful place filled with friendly, loving, supportive friends-in-waiting.

I'm excited for you to be moving to TV, and to be a pioneer in the third and final section. You're going to love it.

A wise TOTVer, Zcaveman, wrote a wonderful three-part post several years ago that has a wealth of helpful information for new TVers. Here's a link: Nuts and bolts (https://www.talkofthevillages.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=139).

Best wishes in building your dream house and moving to Lower Paradise!

Hello Baker Ln folks you will be very close to us can not believe how quickly everyone responds and I was worried about not knowing anyone....keep in touch with us not sure when we will start. Let us how things are down there. Most changes are at far South end of TV, you are staying near far North end of TV, about 10 miles between the two - don't worry about recent changes.

From the posts/photos on TOTV, it sounds like the first houses in Sanibel will be finished by late August.
