I can't see much sense in wasting any more time in discussing our government, the issues we face and possible solutions here in this forum.

Very simply we have no government, we have no leadership, we have no one representing us in Washington who is willing or able to legislate for the benefit of the majority of Americans. All we have are people elected to 535 very attractive jobs who spend virtually all their time campaigning for their re-election. We have ideologs and demagogs split widely apart on the fringes of their often narrow political beliefs, unwilling to compromise or even negotiate. Virtually none of them have accepted the responsibility for governing the country for the benefit of all the people. They often seem more than willing to sacrifice the well-being of the country for their own political gain. Representatives elected from both political parties are able to act that way because they are paid to do so by wealthy special interests. Virtually none of them truly represents the average working American. They say they do but it's the old story--watch what they do (or don't so), not what they say.

So until there is some new evidence of change, I can't see much sense in wasting any more time "talking politics" here in this forum. Frankly, there isn't any more willingness among the participants here to seek and explore workable and mutually acceptable solutions to issues than there is in Congress. Many seem only capable of mounting shallow, ideological arguments, remaining steadfastly ignorant of the facts of rapidly moving situations. Sadly, if how we act here is at all representative of the American electorate at large, our collective future is far from assured.

'Bye.

I follow this forum but rarely post here. Your post deserves a response. It is unfortunate but you are absolutely correct. VK.

The only statement you made that I am concerned with is "Bye". I would hope you reconsider. I consider your posts some of the few voices of reason here.

Well you know if we have nothing nothing nothing then lets do something something something. Is a revolution in order. I'll probably get a knock at my door now. Our elected officials can't do any thing maybe that would be better.

VK,I get madder and madder when I see and hear both sides of our gov't act like morons. What ever happened to compromise and negotiation? There is no possible way that either side is 100% correct any of the time. Our gov't is a joke.

I'm sorry to see you go. But, before you do are you going to stand up on the bet you offered?

As usual it's you on that "high horse" of yours looking down on everyone as if you're better than the rest. I don't know if you mean to come off as a know it all elitist who is too intelligent to engage in conversation with the rabble here on TOTV, but I think your post is very telling.

So, you've said your goodbye as if it's of some importance. Need I say more?

I think it is very important that we protect and defend the Constitution. The document can be changed if need be. But the more important thing is that it be protected and adheared to.

The United States Constitution is a document that I doubt very much the pea brain intellectuals in our government could reproduce.

It is the Constitution that gives us our rights and our freedom, not our government. If we elect people who support protect defend and understand the United States Constitution we will have a chance of saving this country.
