Went to an Open House for another model. When he closed up the sales rep took us to see this house. Thank you, Jason!

It took 3-4 years of visits including two Life Style visits. We changed our selection many times, even as we returned to make the purchase. We've made a lot of mistakes, including the last change of model, but we are Happy Villagers just the same. When I look back at the mistakes we made I shudder to think how bad it could have been had it not been for TOTV during the process. That was our best tool, not the sales rep. This is our second 4th of July !

We were on our first lifestyle visit and looked at new homes for sale (spec homes) on the TV site and went around by ourselves looking in windows and walking around outside... and of course they were locked up. Our Camellia had the garage door left unlocked by some error. We entered and fell in love.
Is that breaking and entering?
Jim McLaughlin ended up filling in for the first girl..who isn't there anymore.
Anyway, Jim just sold us our second house last week. It will start building next Tuesday, with a completion date of September 21. YAY!!

We kind of dumb lucked it. Went from never hearing of TV to buying a house 6 weeks later. We came for a LSP and bought a house the next day. Did not look at a million houses, did not compare blue prints, did not go nuts thinking of ever possible tiny detail that might be important, did not endlessly discuss every nuisance of everything. We came, we saw a house we loved and we bought. We got an Anna Maria. Done deal. FINALLY getting on our way there on Friday!!

We were in Orlando on vacation and went to drive through TV. We stayed all day and then made a plan to come back in 8 years. Sanibel is where our lot and future home will be. We picked out our home from the floor plan layouts in the TV website. The house we picked met our criteria. :D

So Gracie, where are you building? What model did you select? Are you on a golf course? So many questions.
I found our first home with a Villages agent, second home on the Villages web site and the last one a "for sale by owner". So tried them all I think. All went smooth with no issues.

I wish. We can't afford a golf course lot! Will tell you guys all the stuff that has been happening after the deal is done. I am superstitious I guess.
I have one piece of advice for you wannabees. Take a look at all your stuff and start getting rid of it.

Gracie already mentioned once where it is. I won't give it away though.
See you then Gracie.

She sure did, but my lips are sealed too.
How did we find ours? Looked at new and resales over a number of visits using by a TV sales agent and MLS Realtor. Our MLS Realtor showed us the one we bought, as that's where it was listed.

We spent months looking on-line at pre-owned and new homes prior to our visit in January. We then sent our TV sales rep a list of those homes we wanted to see during our visit. We also worked with an MLS agent and pre-selected a number of MLS listed homes we wanted him to show us.
My suggestion is to be prepared prior to your visit and know what your criteria is for the home you are seeking. We wanted a 3 BR designer home and it had to be within walking distance to a recreation/pool center. For us, that was non-negotiable. We stayed focused and found our home.
Do your homework, be prepared and you'll find the home that is best for you. We did!

We looked and vistied TV for 5 years. We worked most with our TV rep but did have a MLS agent as well. Both were very helpful from long distance. Believe all that tell you when the right one comes up you will know it. After 5 years of looking daily online the "right one came up". We bought a turnkey CYV w a huge corner lot at a deadend street and the price was right. Bought it site unseen(something we said we'd never do). Can't wait to get there in October.

we did the lifestyle and the second day bought a new house in tamarind grove. our agent, Jean showed us many new houses and pre-owned.
when we drove in the grove area, we liked it and when we saw the empty house, (without furniture) it just all clicked, you know when you are in the right house. we don't live in tv fulltime, but are looking forward to the day when we can. we can't stop the growing old, but can do it in a fun way.

We purchased a courtyard villa in April 2011 and will be moving in August 10 in the Village of Tamarind. When we arrive, we will be looking for a larger home and will rent our villa. We are looking in the $200-325 price range, 2+ golf cart garage, 1800-2000+ sf, golf course/privacy wall/wildlife preserve view, concrete & block only. And we would like to be located south of 466 with 1.5 miles of Lake Sumter Landing. That's our dream list! If anyone has a lead on a neighbor who is about to sell or thinking of selling your own home, contact me at lorijean716@yahoo.com. Would love to chat with you!
