Hi All,

Just received the buyers Bank Commitment on the sale of our house:D. Closing on July 29th.

Looking to buy a Designer home in the villages. Would like to get your recommendation for a Village Salesperson. Would like to select the sales person rather than just get the next salesperson when we walk in.

We will be doing the lifestyle visit some time in September.

Thanks for your help.

Congrats on your sale and plans. We used Kathy Ward and highly recommend her. I would contact Kathy again if we ever found ourselves in the selling/buying process in The Villages.

I strongly suggest getting two agents. One from Villages Properties to show you homes that are listed with Villages Properties and one from an outside company such as REMAX or Realty Executives to show you homes listed through Multiple Listing Services (MLS). Neither can show each other's listings. Make sure the outside agent is acting as a buyers agent.

A resale in an established community makes a lot of sense. You can negotiate price with the seller, you may find upgrades at no extra cost (pull-out cabinets, golf cart garage, built-in shelves, home offices, etc) no construction around you, and best of all - a MUCH lower bond. Most resales come with a 1 year warranty on everything.

We used Matthew Clark - 352-753-4000 / 352-205-5524 (C)

Our entire process except for the closing was done from a distance through phone, email, fax and express mail. He guided us perfectly throught the entire experience as well as coordinated nicely with friends who did our looking for us and acted as advisors. There was absolutely no pressure what so ever. He even visited after the closing and brought us a bottle of wine as a home warming present. He still stays in touch and want's to visit us again after we become TV frogs in the fall.

We would definitely use him again, if he's still with TV, if we ever decide to sell and/or buy in the future!

Looks like you have a lot of recommendations, but let me throw one more name in the mix for you to consider, Tammy Griswold. We just finished the process, some of it long distance, some in person. She was most helpful and willing to answer all my zillion questions.

Most people recommend the salesperson they worked with, which would seem to indicate that most are very competent. We have workded with, and would recommend:

Tony Trussler Villages Sales Rep, 60ish, English, very helpful and low key.

Lyle Gant, Realty Executive Sales Rep, 60ish, very helpful and informative website; http://www.lylesellsfla.com.z57preview.com/index.shtml

Congratulations! Hope to meet you soon. We had the team of June Brine and Karla Stange. Talk about no pressure! Gave June a list of everything we wanted in a home. When we arrived she had a stack of homes for us to go through. When June was not available Karla was! What a team. Felt as though we knew them. Always had time for us. Down to earth and both have a great sense of humor. Good luck in your home search!

My vote is for Crystal Adams and her assistant, Jim Wallace. Both are very professional yet not pushy. More important was that Crystal really LISTENENED to what I wanted. She showed me the perfect lot within 24 hours of arrival. I DID bring my checkbook....and my house is being built now with closing date 8/31. Crystal went the extra mile on more than one occasion. I would highly recommend her.

Check WWW.focusonthevillages.com for MLS resales available. It was helpful to me. These are resale houses that the Villages salesperson cannot show you. Good luck.

We just bought a house using Marsella Fabres, a villages realtor. She was very responsive and very nice. Best realtor I have ever had and we have had many!!

We dealt with TV realtor, Darlene D'Andrea, after almost 5 years of dealing with our indecisions, she never gave up on us.

We worked with "The Twins" over the course of 1.5 years and were VERY happy. But, we were vigilantly watching the VLS home on our own. They would have messaged us with anything they thought we would be interested in, but they knew we were actively watching.

Lorainne Anderson is STILL helping us months after the sale was done. Can/t rave enough! I guess the whole Villages Sales "family" are great and you can't go wrong,

Look at many virtual tours on TV's site and MLS offsite. It narrowed it down for us and made the selection process a snap.

Julia Powell...tell her Jim and Patti sent you.

Here is another vote (from Pat and Jan) for Julia Powell, who took over after we had some issues with the first one who was assigned to us. She is very professional, knowledgeable, and keeps in touch. I agree that most of them are probably excellent. We made the mistake of not asking to switch as soon as we recognized communication problems with the first one. Had I initially known about TOTV, we would have switched much sooner (a TOTV recommendation). The sales manager took excellent care of us - immediately! - which proved to us that they have very high expectations of their sales force.

CAROLYN STEBBINS has worked with us...so patient and gracious. We talked to her for 3 years before we bought....she's terrific!

Carolyn found the perfect houses for my mother, my sister & brother-in-law, and my husband & me. Ours took the longest because it was nearly 2 1/2 years before we were able to sell our former home. All three transactions were made so much easier because of Carolyn's expertise. She's just a delight to work with, no pressure--we all feel so lucky to have found her! 352-255-5120. :BigApplause:

And there you have it. When it comes to salespeople in The Villages, a list of the bad agents would be a whole lot easier to carry around in your pocket.:1rotfl:

Ours? Jean Truax. Very helpful, practically read our minds, she seemed to know what we wanted even when we couldn't put it into words.

Okay. Another recommendation. I understand there are 150 or so TV realtors. I worked with JOHN STAMPER. EXCELLENT! Having been a business consultant, I was really impressed with every office in the buying process: Sales, Mortgage, Insurance, Inspection, etc. They've all been trained within an inch of their lives.

MLS Realtor: Lyle Gant. SUPER, professional! Didn't purchase with him, but would have.

Beth Pope was our salesperson and has become our friend. Low key when we visited, appropriately attentive when we expressed interest, helpful and informative when we left and were selling our house in North Carolina, and absoulutely on the mark in guiding us when we returned in April to buy. Never too busy to talk with us when we called. Available almost on demand before and when we returned for closing. Her house warming gift was right on the mark. Visited us the other night just a few days after we moved in. If you've forgotten her name -- Beth Pope. We are happy that she found us.

I agree on Lynn Peterson. We started looking about 4-5 years ago, even though we knew we couldn't retire until 2012. Lynn showed us houses on every trip down and has been a great help. We finally pulled the trigger last month and he continues to be great while they are building - sending us pics, etc. He is the best.

Hopefully we will be down in summer of '12 to join the fun!!!
