Last night had dinner with friends at Red Sauce. I ordered the broiled grouper with risotto and peas. I'm not much of a risotto fan but I really wanted the grouper.
It was FANTASTIC!!! I highly recommend ordering it in the future. A little pricey, $19, but well worth it.
Unfortunately, however, my friends ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and they were not happy. For a restaurant with the name Red Sauce, they sure don't know how to make 'GRAVY' LOL....

Last summer, Red Sauce had an early-bird special for $7 that included small salad, bread and pasta of your choice (smaller amount). It was wonderful and we enjoyed it many times sitting on the patio. Now, it's $8.99 and you have to order before 4:00 - a little too early for this early-bird! When you run specials in the summer, we expect them to be around next year without a 30% jump in price!

IMHO, that's still a good price. $9 bucks for all that? Look at the price of gas in the past year? As long as the food is still good, I'd have no problem with that price. Just sayin'!!

It would be great if an employee or particularly a manager for Red Sauce or any other venue could monitor TOTV. When they see a heading with their particular establishment mentioned to take heed regarding the comments. If they are good comments pass them on to their fellow employees. If they are criticism then move to correct a problem. This would serve the establishment well for future business. Good lord, how tough is it to make a tasty spaghetti sauce???? Especially in an Italian restaurant!!!!!!!!

How tough is it to mention to the manager "at the moment" your concerns, rather than later posting on TOTV? Who running a business has the time to check the Internet for possible comments?

Based on TOTV having such a large following I think it might be a positive step to find 5 mins. to scan the headings to see if your particular establishment is mentioned. If they see a negative post it would certainly be worth their while to look into the complaint. I believe I read a while ago about the Havana CC being slammed to service and food. I remember an employee answering the post with positive comments that they were working hard to correct the problems. Based on newer posts it seemed to be that they improved some of the problem areas and fellow posters where happy with the improvements. Us members are all eaters:mmmm:

While visiting last month I had the Pasta Carbonara which was awesome. Paula was our server and was outstanding. Cant wait to go back in September! We went back the same evening for Happy Hour on the outside deck.

I've read some pretty nasty comments about restaurants on here. Not necessarily this thread, but alot of the times, the comments on here are meaningless. If it was so bad, they should say something to the server or manager at the time of the problem. To come on here & talk about them & complain is not the way to solve problems. You can't please everyone. Sometimes people just like to complain.

I come here to seek information about food and services. What I read, I take with a grain of salt, but a lot of the info is accurate and I avoidplaces that have numerous psots about bad food/service.

My husband and I went to Red Sauce last with another couple. My husband really enjoyed it by the other couple and myself thought it was so so. I myself like Little Joeys much better.

Sauce or Gravy? Had to go to Italy to find out the difference . . . it is sauce unless you put meat in it, then it's gravy.
Red Sauce is marginal as an Italian Restaurant, their worst problem is the sause is not any better than Ragu right out of the jar and half the time I've eaten their the pasta has been over cooked. There are no GREAT Italian restaurants in this area, I just go back from New England and after eating in the North end of Boston and Federal Hill in Providence it makes me upset that we cannot have something better in the Villages area.
Giovanni's is the best in the area right now but Augustines was by far the best and it's ashame they closed the place . . . they also brewed their own stuff and we do need a brew pub in The Villages!
