My wife is into "healthy eating"
So folks, I have a question:
Are there any "health food" restaurants or stores in the Villages?
We should be there in a couple of weeks?
Thanks
Rex

:posting:In my humble opionion I'm eating healthy when I go to the candy/fudge shop in Spanish Springs because I only buy one slice of fudge and not a whole pound. Their fudge is really good. May not be what your wife is looking for but we can't wait to move in during April of next year. Then I can go to the fudge shop every day. :mmmm:

Peach Wave and High Five are frozen yogurt stores. That is as healthy as I get. Crispers sells salads.

Thanks folks. Actually my idea of health food is beer and donuts!
But my wife likes to keep me around, so she makes me eat health food. :}
But If ya consider that neither of us take any meds...she may have point.
I have friends who spend a fair amount at the doctor's.

If you are both not taking any meds, then your wife has more than just a point!!!! Awesome!!! Just give me a Farmers Market with lots of fresh vegies and lots of fresh fruit. I only cook with a little bit of olive oil and lots of garlic, yes I still have friends....make sure they eat garlic with you!!!:BigApplause:

I hae to agree with you about Golden Corral. They have a wide seletion of salads and veggies that are supposed to be good for you (brussel sprouts, broccoli and cauliflower).
I actually do get these veggies because I like them. Unfortunately I LOVE the fried chicken so that counteracts the salad and veggies.

We try to eat healthy.
TooJays has great omelets (go to the one in Spanish Springs, it's better).
We also have a lot of salads everywhere. The steak houses have good salads and chicken/beef dishes that aren't horrible for you.

I can usually order very healthy. Servers are very happy to tell you how food is prepared. I stay away from pasta and potatoes. I always ask for the vegie on the side and steamed instead of loaded with butter or oil. They will accomidate if you ask. Oh well, just what i do.....

There is a vegan club in the Villages. Have a wonderful potluck once a month.
You should find Sweet Bay and Fresh Market can supply you with good food choices as well. You really can be healthy in The Villages

And after we've loaded up on pot roast, healthy veggies and salad I think we earn a trip to the dessert bar for some bread pudding with vanilla yougurt slathered on top:D
