Just a reminder about "the fine print". I booked a return Shuttle trip to Orlando (pay the driver) and then had to cancel the outbound trip a few days before departure. We just used the inbound trip today and the driver asks for $80, I was expecting $70 for the both of us. Reading the fine print I find that there is a $5.00 cancellation fee --- am assuming that is my extra $10.00, plan on checking with the Sation Office tomorrow.
What is strange is that if I am a NO SHOW I recieve a rain check and no penalty? Why not a rain check for a courtesy cancellation advisement?
Was this the Villages shuttle (departs from LSL and SS) or the Villages Airport Van (picks up at home)?

I would check on the rate. I used the TV Shuttle early June and choose to pay by credit card over the phone, $35. I was told I could pay the driver. I heard the driver charge another passenger $5 more than I paid. I did wonder what was going on.

The driver might have charged $5 more because maybe the passenger got at-home pickup or drop-off.....$5 for the taxi ride to or from the house. (Well worth the $5 when one doesn't have a ride to the station.)

Good question. Is there an answer forthcoming?

I wish the Villages Airport Van would go back to calling themselves Yellow Cab. It is so confusing to have two services, Villages Shuttle (owned by The Villages) and Villages Van.
I think at this time it is only Village Airport Van that picks up at your home without charge? I heard that the Villages Shuttle now charges for the service?

Barefoot and others:
Agree that it is confusing.
The Villages Shuttle appears to now be calling itself The Villages Transportation according to a new flier I picked up and there've been small ads in The Daily Sun. See TheVillagesTransportation.net.
I am not 100% sure that this service is owned by TV any longer.
And, it's true that they are now offering, for an extra $5 each way, taxi pick-up/drop-off at your home. That's got to be to compete with the Orlando-based van service.
When I booked my late evening return next month, I was told that if I return after 9:00 pm or so, the shuttle vehicle may well bring me home instead of a taxi.
Many of my trips are, of course, cruises, so I use Cruise Connection to get to Fort Lauderdale. Sometimes, when I fly from Orlando I drive. But, even at $10 a day, that adds up. So, I'll be looking at The Villages Transportation again in the future.
One major reason: My gut tells me that their vehicles are a h*** of a lot more comfortable than the vans.
Hope you'll be back in TV before snow flies! :D

Do/did they charge the extra $5 if the van drops you off at home instead of a taxi?
