This morning I stopped at the Village of Sanibel and drove as far as I could down Pinellas Place (I think that is the name of the street) then after about 6blocks the street is blocked to all but construction traffic. Drove down the street where the model homes are -- very nice. Sanibelers enjoy your new home!

Last evening around 6:40 I could not go into Sanibel at all in my golf cart. The 'gate greeter' told me that it is now only open until 6PM. This is something new for sure.

Heard from one of my neighbors yesterday that the Sanibel gate will be staffed 24 - 7 soon. They are currently looking to see if any current gate attendants want to transfer to the new location.

Schaumburger, We were down this past Monday-Wednesday and our home is coming along nicely. I am amazed at the speed at which the homes are built. We are a bit over 3 weeks into ours and it looks as though the sheetrock will go in this week. We close here in Georgia on the 25th and it's on to a rental till August 26 when we close in TV. Just great to see a neighborhood come to life.

Believe for security reasons after homes are constructed and have appliances, etc. ready for installation, access is available from 6am - 6pm only. When I first lived near Lopez 8 years ago, there were thefts of appliances, etc. from new unoccupied homes. Took all appliances from one near us at night. Personally glad to see the roads blocked to non-residents at night in new villages.
