Talented, Fun loving people pull entrainment surprises in the least likely places. Different themes, different places, different people. But they are all fun and if you've never seen one, here are a couple of examples. Please bear with the commercials at the beginning. The videos are worth watching.

FYI: All TV residents can participate in an real live, actual flash mob at Lake Sumter Landing at 8am on July 27. The flash mob scene will be the finale of the VCDD's month-long Rock Your Park celebration!
To quote Belushi in Animal House, "Let's do it!!!!"

We had never heard of such a thing until our son and his wife in Denver Colorado sent to us their neighborhood flash mob thingie whereby all the "New Dads" , carrying their infants and toddlers, kind of marched through their neighborhood........very proudly......went in and out of a local establishment , back to the pavement and at the end they lined up, held the babies aloft to the theme from "LION KING"..........it was actually quite moving. Some group that promotes "Motherhood" thought the dads should get their time in the limelight..........the entire video lasted about five to ten minutes..........it was a horde of young fathers............when I mentioned to them that the kindergartens would be overcrowded in a few years, they said that actually, it was from all over Denver proper.

I adore flash mobs. To me, they are a remarkable, touching and breathtaking innovation of modern culture.
But alas, I've only seen the youtube replays. What I wouldn't give to happen upon a professional and unexpected live flash-mob performance!

Up in Chicago they become quite distructive groups, police have had a bit of a problem with them
Does anyone remember our 2 TOTV freezes at Lake Sumter Landing? They are on youtube. Why not have another one? The last one was when Rocky and the Rollers were performing which guaranteed us a good crowd.

Never seen a Flash Mob in person. Best one on tv featured Handel's Hallelujah Chorus!
But, I did participate in our first Freeze at Market Square. It was great fun, and caused some commotion.
Especially our very own Shirleevee and her SO Pete who locked lips for the entire time! :BigApplause:
Who said growing "old" wasn't fun?

Aloha 'O Ka Hula, the Villages peforming hula troupe, will be dancing a "Hit and Run Hula" in front of the Old Mill Playhouse around 4:30 PM this afternoon in observance of National Dance Day. "Hit and Run" is our term for "Flash Mob" because hula dancers don't do mobs <g>.
Please come down and see us -- we'll come out of the crowd, do one dance, then fade away. We've done this before on National Dance Day and it is always fun.

Nice but what does this have to do with a flash mob? Just wondering.

It has nothing to do with flash mobs, but watching these reminded me of the ballet so I posted it. I don't think anyone has been harmed.

No problem. You could just start a new thread about dancing. The good (and beautiful) link you posted might go unnoticed since people may not want to read about flash mobs.
Just trying to help keep things relevant.

Isn't a flash mob supposed to be somewhat spontaneous?
When the gatherings are advertised in the newspapers and scheduled days or weeks in advance doesn't that sort of make it something else?
