I don't know how far you live from an Apple retail store but they offer free workshops on basics and advanced topics for iPads, iPhones etc. Go here to take a look at workshops they offer as well as other methods they use to deliver education on their products.

6 months ago I was in the same boat your in. Got my wife iPad for Xmas. We now have 2. The best way to think of the iPad it is a consumption device. I use it for email and able type on it almost as fast. Take look at the otter box to protect it. It is great. Just explore you can't hurt it. I love the book store. I download the free samples of books. You get about 150 pages is wonderful. My ADHD kicks in about that time in a book and I am ready to move to another book. My best advice is "just play". You have purchased the best tablet, with the most apps. iTunes runs slow on a pc just go with it. Just a fact of life. iTunes is a whole new world for us pc folks. With the learning curve I am still glad we have these iPads.

784Caroline, my wife is very good with the iPad and has been using it extensively for the past year. She taught me a few things and I have been using mine for 3 or 4 months now. If she could help me, she can help anyone. We will be down at the end of next week if you want an hour of one on one time with someone who is a former teacher and very savvy on the device.

What kind of help do you need? There are enough of us on this forum [with iPads] that we might be able to help you here...
So, what's the issue?

Do you know how to get apps from iTunes? You can get the free iBook app and then you can download this book....for free as well.

Good luck. Once you get the "hang" of the iPad, you'll love it.

Problems as I mentioned in my first post are fairly basic.
Tried to get an apple ID ...thought I had it but it would not sync with the password when asked to verify ..then it tells me nothing is recognizable.
Got into my email acct at comcast but then i cannot get into the individual emails
Tried to play some games at MSM.games.com but it would not recognize teh safari software.
These are just a few of the issues i faced in my initial try at IPAD2.
Knowing the real ins and outs will take a while.
Appreciate all the links and Im glad to hear that others were in the same situation when they first got the IPAD ...but now they like it.
Very surprised that Apple did not provide a quick start guide when the unit was delivered.

Go to apple.com/support. Touch manuals, then Ipad 2 User Guide to download manual to your Ipad. I assume you have wireless network.

Here's a link to a thread, where lots of folks shared their favorite apps, for both iPhone and iPad...
If you have a favorite app that isn't there, let us know what it is...

I love my iPad. I do have problem with pass words. Apple wants one and iTunes another. I somehow always figure it out.
I use it so much more than my PC. First set up you mail. gmail, yahoo, hotmail are web based and easier to set up. If you don't already have one of these, I would get one.
I have so many apps I love. Scrabble is one, spider solitare is another. We also have the newscasts which we catch when away from home. I like CNN. You know how to download apps, don't you. Facetime is fun too. Use this with grandchildren. Any specific questions?

Keys are sticking on my iPad. Well, they're not sticking exactly, not like on a traditional keyboard, obviously. But when I push the V, it usually doesn't register. Has anyone else experienced a sticking letter?

MEMason ... Come in please.
Believe it or not, I did read about this problem somewhere else...where??? I don't remember. However, the eventual outcome was to take the iPad back to the Apple Store, where the iPad was replaced...
Before that, I would make sure I had everything backed up (sync'd with iTunes) and then I'd perform a "hard" reset. To perform the reset, hold the Home button and the Power buttons until the unit shuts down and keep holding the buttons until you see the Apple in the middle of the screen on boot-up. If that doesn't correct the issue and it is happening in all of your apps, then I would try to get to an Apple Store. If your unit is still under warranty, they might just replace it.
Let us know if the reset helps....
