I've had MicroSoft forever. I got tired of all their issues and went Apple this time. I have one problem I'd like to correct if possible. Why does the delete key delete in the opposite direction. Being an avid MS Word user (I used CrossOver to install MS 2008) I am used to deleting from left to right.

WAIT!!!! This might not be a Word issue as my email also deletes backwards. Is there a setting in Apple application somewhere to reverse the direction?

I've used a Mac for 20 years and the delete key always deletes text from right to left. I don't know of an alternative solution.

It's been years since I drove a MAC, but I suspect backspace key (or the MAC equivalent) does the trick. But then my brain is waterlogged from swimming.

At least you can swim without sinking. PS: Tried the shift key with the delete ket. Also tried the alt key. The deletion still goes from right to left.

I use MAC and if you get the numeric key pad there is a 2nd delete key.

Try using the fn key on the bottom left corner at the same time you use the delete key.

... or simpler still, pop the key off and re-insert it upside down. :D

Fantastic. The FN key works. My life is in order again. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are my hero.

Your welcome. I bought my Mac 7 months ago and love it.

After so many years with MS I am having a little trouble adjusting to the new way of life. One step at a time. I still have my other computer as a backup but intend to ditch it when I can master Apple. Thanks again.

Which Apple computer did you get?

The IMAC all in one. I like it. Like I said, a few issues I need to figure out. But in the long run, I believe switching to Apple will be a smart move.

Tom, an easy fix...just place your screen in front of a mirror and as you delete, just look at the mirror.

... Or, drink those two pina coladas you're holding and you won't care which direction it deletes.

WOW! Phyllis is on a roll today. LOL.

Yeah those pina coladas are making me look like a drunken Irishman. When I went to the last Critters get together for the first time, there were no name tags. Yet, someone recognized me and said "You're Tom. The guy with the pina coladas." Hope to catch up with you someday.

Don't know if the Crispers mispelling was intentional or not, but I love it! The TOTV Critters luncheon. That needs to stick! :clap2:

Can't wait to be able to go to my next Critters luncheon. :highfive:

My misspelling was not intentional. I was only there that one time and wasn't sure of the name being Crispers. You're right Phillis. Critters sounds better.

Whether it be Critters or Crispers -the idea of TOTV's meeting in person is a great happening. For those who haven't attended, I recommend it. Although I will not be around to attend any luncheon's until next year, the show will go on.
