Can anyone explain to me why with the Village frame homes I do not see a inside vapor barrier only bare insulation. Except for the inner garage wall.

I assume the Green wrap on the outside is to stop air infiltration let the home breath from the inside out and also help keep rain water out.

Sorry for being a confused Northern home owner. Won't mositure be getting into the batts and cause problems especially when it gets cooler in winter?

I have always seen fiberglass batts with the paper or foil facing the inside of the home and sometimes a layer of clean plastic over that.

We are building a frame home and I am curious of the Southern construction codes and insulation methods.

Thanks!

This may help http://www.energysavers.gov/your_home/insulation_airsealing/index.cfm/mytopic=11800

Notice the map and how, in Florida, it's on the outside wall, not the inside.

A condo complex I managed in naples fell within a small time envelope when a vapor barrier was required inside. We wound up removing all interior drywall at the owners expense, ad re-hung it without the plastic. The drywall was constantly soaked from interior moisture.
