How old is the house? who was the builder? did you contact the waranty dept? You may want to make certain thatthe sub-decking isn't damaged?

We too had a leak and it turned out that the insulation in the attic went up too far so that water coming in the roof vent was wicked down to the ceiling. It was covered under warranty.

I agree with using the warranty department. If it isn't covered under warranty they can tell you who the "good guys" are.
A leaking roof is not a problem to leave in the hands of a handyman.

They will even tell you who actually put your roof on.

Recently, lightning hit my home and the damage required a roofer. It was minor damage and insurance covered it. Most roofers I contacted were looking for the BIG jobs and finally the insurance adjuster for AAA recommended the following company.
We were very pleased. It required matching the soffet, painting, as well as repairing the roof and sealing it. Total cost was $825.00.
Company and Contact is:
Dan Shepler Roofing, Inc. (License No. CCC1326616)
7958 C.R. 109 D Lady Lake, FL 32159
Dan's Office No: 352-751-1471
Dan's Cell No: 352-504-8186
In no way am I related nor do I have any kind of relationship with Dan or his company. I just want to share my good contractor experiences with other Village residents.

Good advise to call the warranty department from others. Our home is out of the 1 year warranty but the warranty department indicated we have (1) roof repair for free if required due to leaks within 4 years of settlement. Hope this helps.

We have a leak in the roof, called Dan Shepler. We made an appointment , waited and he didn't show up. Called him about our appointment and he never called back. We got his name from the warranty dept, and he was the one who installed our roof, maybe that is why he didn't show up or call back..... just sayin

Do not call Summerfield Roofing! The owner came to our house twice to fix a roof leak, charged us hundreds of dollars, and when the roof continued to leak, did not return a phone call which we know was received by him. We eventually had Scott Smith Roofing come to our house. The roofers immediately diagnosed the problem and mentioned that someone had previously used incompatible and totally ineffective and unnecessary materials on the roof. Scott Smith Roofing repaired the roof in less than an hour, and we have not experienced any further leaks.

Every time it rains, out come the buckets at the exercise room at Laurel Manor.
Last heavy rain, a tile came down and almost hit a lady on a treadmill. This has been going on for a few years. Very frustrating for the desk people who work there.

I also recommend Scott Smith Roofing. My original roofer came to my house at least 8 times, never fixed the problem. A friend recommended Scott Smith. Fixed witin 30 minutes and never had a leak since.

I would also suggest using the Virginia Trace GOOD SERVICES LIST.
As a NOT you may not have much success with your original roofer. The Owens Corning shingle mess has at least four of the roofing companies literally flat out trying to replace roofs here in Hadley and neighboring Villages. Our roof was just finished this past Thursday by Dan Shepler and he told us he has about 275 houses either waiting for inspection or on the list to be replaced. It is a daily event here that we can either hear the work going on or see the work on our street.
Just be advised and these guys are doing a great good to keep up the demand especially in this heat.

Sack Roofing, Inc.: Welcome (http://www.sackroofing.com)
Bill is no longer with Sacks. They put on my roof and when I called they told me they were to busy to do repairs. (they were the original installing) They refered me to another company and they haven't showed up or called back to schedule an appointment.
