lanai drainage

I have a pool lanai that is not draining under the lanai framing. Any ideas? Is there a drainage system?

We had that problem when we added a birdcage and the rain came in torrents and couldn't drain fast enough. A DIY lives here so he rented some kind of tool and drilled a few drainholes through the concrete at an angle to the outside. He thought that was best in our case and it works really well.
