Obama and Congress' report card grade.
They have the historical distinction of being the only administration to have this happen in the history of the ratings.
The politicians will try to dismiss that a AA+ is not that big of a deal from a AAA.
We the people will now wind up paying even more for goods and services as the cost of borrowing money increase.
And the WH states the S&P is not looking at it correctly....In my opinion, the article I just read on the reasons for the S&P's action are 100% on target. Obama and Congress did not do enough in the latest bill to curb spending. Further the S&P has no confidence anything will be done as articulated even at the unacceptable level.

There are those who will respond with Obama is not responsible....please don't waste the keystrokes...he is responsible for what happens on his watch. He is directly responsible for not taking the lead on the debt debacle instead of the normal political flip flopping and dodging risk taking positions.

Just watch the smoke and mirror gang go to work now. And isn't it a coincidence that Congress will not be around for 5 weeks? I can't wait to hear the Obama spin for his campaign.

If Obama was a corporation head that just lost it's AAA rating he would be out of the job Monday morning. I personally believe he deserves no less. His failure to do what ever it takes to preserve the status of this country is not to be tolerated. We the people should not have to wait until 2012 to oust a non performer.

Like a corporate head, it does not matter whether there is an R or a D after their name..when they lose the rating they lose their job!!

Republicans and Democrats are BOTH responsible. I am a tea party supporter. We tried to force the necessary changes in the budget resolution earlier this year and during the debt ceiling debate. Not only have both parties BLOWN money on UNBELIEVABLE social welfare, unnecessary wars, , and tax breaks (I am for low taxes, I hate the special breaks that gov uses to influence behavior), but they BOTH conspired to stop the tea parties efforts to save this country from fiscal disaster. Shame on them and shame on anyone who has supported those spending pigs and have put this country on the verge of economic and political death. Boehner, McConnell, Cantor, Reid, Pelosi, and Obama need to resign NOW.. I can give you examples of how each of them, and both parties in the past have destroyed this country.. but you know..
Foreign aid, bloated military, welfare giveaways, pell grants that are pure bs, shrimp on treadmills, bridges to no where, pork and pork, bases in hundreds of countries all over the world, nation building, programs till they are coming out of our ears, free cell phones, free medical care, free education, free internet, free this free that...
you all Know the truth.
The socialists need to stop their nonsense, and repubs must admit we do not have enough money for their international interventionism. Its over and we must stop now.

I will take the flags. You can keep the bible verses. We are not evangelicals. I am not religious. That is the problem.. many people just do not understand the tea party. TEA>> fiscal responsibility. that is why we do not support Republicans.. we support fiscally conservative candidates. Boehner, McConnell, Cantor, Reid, Pelosi, and Obama all need to resign now.. none of them are sincere in saving this country from fiscal disaster.
I tell it like it is. You know you do not believe in that phoney deal.

Dont follow leads. Think for yourself. Save this country. Tell the Rinos and the Dems to get out of the way so fiscal conservatives can save the nation.

I was just following your lead.

I may attack politicians because they are fair game, but you attack citizens. Big difference.

Solve our problems. Vote Republican. Any other vote will be an economic catastrophe.

Does that mean you are afraid of accepting the consequence of the dribble you share here and at the voting box?

Choices have consequence, citizen.

Thank-you Obama
In the space of two years, you have done more damage to this economey — which means the future not only of this country but the rest of what you would disdain to call the civilized world — than any President in history. You are a poor man’s Jimmy Carter, a midget Herbert Hoover, a disaster for this country and the world.

S&P said the negative outlook pointed to the possibility of lowering the rating to AA within two years if the government does not cut spending as much as currently pledged, or if higher interest rates and new fiscal pressures worsen the country’s financial picture.

No sense in attacking each other. We need to start to work together, forget about being a Demo or Repub, research each and every candidate. Listen not to what they say, but look at what they have done. Actions are more important that words. Then remove them from office come 2012 and replace with those that are willing to work for the American People, make hard choices and not work just for re-election, this has to happen on the local, state and federal level.

All of us, each and everyone is responsible for the mess that we are in. We did not do our jobs as voters and American Citizens. We let someone else do our thinking and inch by inch and step by step we are now paying the price for OUR inactions and incompetence, so suck it up, get back in the game and start doing what we were suppost to be doing in the first place, watching those that we sent to represent us.

Hopefully we can survive until the 2012 election and get rid of those that are mis-representing us and only working for themselves. Demand, from our elected officals, that they pass a law that anyone in an elected office, local, state and federal who commits a crime be removed from office immediately. If they don't pass that law, then remove them at the next election and pick new folks that will do as the voters demand.

So this is the result of Obama and his democrat accomplices? No, it's the result of about 10-12 years of selfish, irresponsible, dysfunctional government with both Congresses and presidents from both of our major political parties.

The philosophical basis of the liberal Democrats in Congress is a belief in the welfare state. They continue to pass redistribution programs to close the gap of disparity between classes. It is all about social justice. During the debt ceiling debate one Democrat (not ID) was quoted as saying "Some people just make too much money."

You can the frustration in Progressive minds via the liberal media/pols ..." we heard that the tea party were content with blowing up our government Washington Post E.J Dionne , columnist

or Tea Party Republicans have waged jihad on the American people NY Times, Joe Nocera, columnist

or "acting like a maniacal gang with knives held high" NY Times Maureen Dowd, columnist

Biden the Democrats or both at one point in negotiations said Republicans have acted like terrorists.

Obama and liberal Democrats are idealogs and as such are obssessed with passing this social justice agenda even at the detriment of the Country.

I appauld the tea party because but for their stick-to-itive-ness the Republican party would have caved in substntially more than they did.

Remember the rating agencies down grading American's bonds are the same agencies that contributed to 2008 economic crisis.

Not quite the truth of the situation in my view. All things are not equal.

And how about this "incendiary vitriol" from Warren Buffet, Obama's economic advisor during his campaign and this year:

(In a recent interview about the debt ceiling debate: )

"if you take a 6 shooter and stuck a gun a bullet in one chamber and said spin it"

"playing Russian roulette to get your way"

"when you have somebody with a gun to your head"

"didn't do it by sticking guns at each other's heads"

"you're playing with fire"

(there are two ways of paying your bills) ....the other is "only at the threat of a gun"

"Well I hope that if they send out the Social Security checks, they send them out Alphabetically!"

(Interviewer: "Why aren't SS and medicare means tested?)

"(they think you're)...better off making decisions of those things at the point of a gun"

they say, "now we're going to blow your brains out, America"

......said Warren Buffet.

See video clip at:

Isn't THAT a great way to foster reasonable debate and mutual compromise?!?!?!??
