We will be moving down in 10 days and we want to go and get our Florida Drivers Licenses. Someone told us that there is a DMV office right next door to the new library on 466A. I went to the DMV site and I don't see any there. Can anyone tell us if there is one there, if not where should we go.
Thanks.

That is the office where I renewed my Florida Driver's license. Be sure to bring your social security card with you, along with your old license, and two pieces of mail that have your address on them (you need something to verify your new address). I brought a passport as well, but it wasn't necessary.

Good Service, If you are registering your car also. Check the cost. 200 plus charge for first time registering in FL. Was in and out inside of an hour and registered two cars and got two license completed.

It would be a very good idea to check the Florida Dept of Motor Vehicle website on your computer to make sure you take everything with you. I understand that starting in January, 2010, women have to bring copies of marriage licences with them.
No need to comment on this if I am right or wrong. Just check it out on the website to be sure so you do not have to make a return trip.

In FL I think the "TAX COLLECTOR" Tom Swain handles all that stuff.

Make sure you bring your car, if its out of state title, they come out and verify your VIN with your title.

They did not check our car.
I was there this week with two cars and they checked both of the VIN's.

If your car is less than six months old, then in addition to a title if you own the car, you will also need to bring the sales contract from the dealer. They will want to charge you the difference in sales tax from your old state to what it is here. I couldn't find mine so they told me to come back after August 26th when my car will be six months old.
When applying for your drivers license make you bring the birth certificate from the heath department and not the one from the hospital. I had to make an extra trip because of that mistake. The one good thing was my license is valid until 2020 and only cost $54. I also don't have to wear glasses like I did in Maryland, for some reason I was able to pass the Florida eye test.
