Do you regret your cabinetry choice?

We've been visiting The Villages for a couple of years and also looking for homes both pre-owned and newer models online. I've never had white cabinets and thought that's the way it would be when it came to that time. We were leaning toward pre-owned and pretty much knew that when we saw the house for us, we'd know it (white cabinets were in the top preferences on my list) Well, now, it seems we're going to build a new home (we fell in love with the new Cedar) and most of the new Designer models that we've seen have either cherry, or another wood stained, glazed or some other look, but no white that I saw. My question here is: If you had chosen white cabinetry for your kitchen/bath, do you regret this choice? How has it stood up to the test of time/heat/usage in your kitchens/baths? The kitchen in the Cedar, as well as other models, is open and I was wondering how it blended with the furniture in the living areas. I have some time as we haven't made these choices yet, but we have put a hold on a homesite in Unit 177 in Sanibel. Excited!! But I want to make the right choice for us. When we purchased our house in Virginia Trace it came with white cabinets which I wasn't too thrilled with. But now, after a year I love the looks- it makes for a bright uplifting room and we've found that they clean up very nicely even though I'm a blue collar kinda guy! I've gotten bored with that oak/cherry look.

I would have to say I like the warmth of a medium wood look. I like medium oak, maple with some contrast outlining, or cherry, but not too dark. Browns are one of my favorite colors, though, and it is nice that there is something for everyone. The white is very Florida and tropical.
BTW--BeeGee, we are going to build in Sanibel 175, so maybe someday, I can see your cabinets and you can see mine!:D

We always had wood cavinets cherry, maple, etc. However when we moved down here in 2006 what you saw is what you got. thehouse we purchased on a number of upgrades and the cabinets were one of the, they are white and made to withstnad so muc and clean so well. didn't think I like them but I do as they are easy on the eyes.

We have bisque cabinets and bisque appliances which look nice together but when you want to upgrade appliances, there's not much in bisque these days to choose from. SS seems to go better with the wood tone cabinets or am I mistaken?
