I have visited the chat rooms but there is never anyone there. I know we shouldn't use the forums to chat but why aren't the rooms utilized?

Sometimes you have to hang around Chat for a while so that other members notice that you're logged in. Good luck with it!

KathieI used to be the chatroom girl.

I found it hard to follow a conversation as there would be so many going on simultaneously.

There was a lot of HI COME ON IN and WELCOME, how ya been...

Than someone would say the greens were fast today and someone would say their golf cart was slow today and someone else would reply about fast or slow and I didn't know to whom or what.

Which is my usual state I guess.

But...I also know for a fact that many long time friendships were found there.

I think I have AHDD

when I first got on TOTV there would be sooo many in chat....they liked to be in there late.....as I was saying there would be soooo many in chat that you couldn't keep up. Well most of them have moved to TV now and they are busy....they have a life now you know. hahahaha

One way to do the chat thing is is to open it in a 2nd window, log into chat, put on volume and then instead of waiting in chat you can downsize it and use the other window to read the threads etc. Or just downsize it and check facebook etc. or other forums.

You will hear when someone logs in to chat and then you can upsize the window.

Its very sad that the chat room is not utilized as much as it used to be. Its hard to understand why, but at the time, most of the "chatters" were not yet living in TV. I was still in Los Angeles (without a life) and so it was early in the evening for me. We would start logging onto chat somewhere around 8pm Eastern Time and there were regulars and there were occasional chatters. At one time I think we had a record of 17 or 18 with many more coming in and out all evening. It was hard for some to keep up, but I used to call myself the Queen and the fastest typist west of the Mississippi.. LOL. We had private chat boxes within the main chat room, and at one time I had 5 private chat boxes open as well as following what was going on in the main chat room. It was hysterical and sooo much fun. Many great friendships were developed during that time and I guess that, as we all started to move down here, we became tooo busy to sit on the computer at night. We talked about doing a chat reunion night and maybe I'll try to coordinate that for an evening that I'm not out dancing.

When a new person would log on, we would all chime in to assist them in how to type in the box and how to put the icons and smilies next to their names or comments, so everyone was welcome, there were no cliques, although admittedly there were "regulars" who were there every night.

I was the Walmart Greeter and would say to everyone coming in "Welcome to Chat" and it was a joke to see if someone would beat me too it. Lots of good times and we would love to restart it but I worry sometimes that could it ever be as good as it was, and would we be terribly disappointed....

Well, I'm getting the bug now, so I think I'll post a reunion and newbie event for one night and see what transpires. The only nights I'm usually home is Tues and Thurs so it might be one of those night. Hopefully all of you can join us and I think you will have a very good time.

Stand by for more information and everyone is welcome to join in.
