I'm considering making the switch when the time comes to this supplemental. My primary has signed up but my question is..."are you happy with the dental offices and eye offices provided?" Who exactly are on these lists? I know when I meet with the insurance person in a few months she will be able to answer this but I'm still in the "considering" stage and would love to hear from actual patients on their experiences.

I have Lange Eye Care so far on Preferred Care and have seen them 3 times this year. No problems other than it always seems to take time for appointments there. The dental I have not used yet since I am still on Delta Dental this year. My family doctor I have only seen once but no problems there so far.

:DWe have been with PCP for almost 2 yrs. Family Dr is fine. The Dental we are not to sure of. We are currently changing. We have been going to Star Dental but we are changing to a Dr. in Umatilla mostly to get away from the ones in The area of Villages. At Star the Hygenists do a good job with the cleaning but they are instructed to up sell you on procedures like come back every 3 months instead of twice a year, you should have a deep cleaning procedure done at $175. a quadrant etc. They also employ a closer that tries to sell you on a list of procedures that are not covered by the plan. This person is not a Dentist he is their to upgrade the visit. If you talk to people you meet down here about Dentists, I am almost certain everyone will tell you the same sory, "I have been seeing my Dentist at home and He or She never told me I needed all this Done". As for Optical, We recently went to Langes for our exams and found them to be excellent. My wife has Macular problems and is very pleased with Doctors. On the other hand when it comes time to order the glasses, Shop. Lange wanted $719.. Walmart on 441 filled the prescription for $299., both places furnished me with zuess lenses and the Walmart price included warranty while Lange wanted $49. We are pleased with PCP and currently find them to be a good choice.

I have some eye issues...so would be interested to know if Lange Eye has the specialists available. When it's said it takes "time"---does that mean to get an actual appointment or that you wait once you're there to actually see your practioner??
Dentists would be THE next thing I'm interested in knowing about. Have to make a switch from one I already like (but who doesn't take insurance--they bill you and you have to submit to your ins. carrier)
My primary care-giver has signed up for PCP as has the chiropractor that I've seen.

Only issue I had with Lange Eye is that when I took my prescription there the guy said I should really have these new lens they are selling now.....only $600.00 for the lens....I said no thanks.
Haven't tried the dental yet. PCP, specialists are good as is chiropractor on plan. No real complaints at all.

I've been very pleased with Preferred Care Partners. I have used a family practice doc as my main doctor, I have used a dermatologist several times and a dentist that I am pleased with as well. I have not yet used the eye doctor. The plan I have is the Preferred Care Gold (HMO). I only pay part B of medicare. My plan has no copays and specialists can be seen without a referal and with no copay.

Can you tell me who the dermatologist is as well as the dentist?? Is the latter only offered as one practice??? Care to give names there too??
