I purchased a used Club Car & the seat is dirty. How does one clean them?

You didn't say whether or not your seat has covers that are removable? When we purchased our cart we ordered removable covers for our seat and seat backs so that they could be washed. Our cart is 10 years old and I still wash the seat covers in the washing machine. Ours are Sunbrella and wash very well. I hang them to dry but wonder if they could be put in a clothes dryer? Use laundry detergent, just as you would for any load of clothes. If you can't remove the cover(s) I'm not sure how to clean them.....I think I might take some detergent and a brush and scrub gently, rinsing well with a garden hose. Perhaps someone here has experience with non-removable covers. Good luck!

Thank you! They are removable, so I'll give your method a try.

Here are instructions from the Sunbrella website: www.sunbrella.com/cleaning/upholstery.php Looks easy peasy. Remove, hand or machine wash, air dry.

I have done mine a couple times and I find what works best is to wash, spin dry, and then put them back on the cart while slightly damp. Park the cart outside to dry. This leaves them wrinkle free and nice and tight over the seats. They look like new.

I also wash in machine and put them back on cart when damp and they do come out fine. I would not put them in the dryer and I wash in cool/warm water only.

We have a Club Car with Sunbrella cover. eI didn't need to do the back part but for the seat part I just took the entire seat out of the cart, got a bucket with soapy water (think I used dawn) and a scrub brush and just did a little scrubbing. Rinsed with the hose and it looks like brand new. Left in the sun to dry. Can't see taking the covers off the seat if you don't have to. Good luck.
